297 days until the election (#3270)

The turn of the new year signalled to me that it was time to gear up seriously toward the midterm elections but another milestone was just passed a few days ago when we went under 300 days. We are now at 297 days until the day we sweep republicans from office everywhere and now is time to put our metaphorical noses to the grindstone. There are now 31 current republican office holders in our national congress who as of today are not running for the seats they currently hold. 12 of them are running for different seats. So despite the overall majority republicans have in both houses and the many seats in the senate that have to be defended by democrats, the momentum is on our democratic side to not only keep our seats but to take enough seats from republicans to give democrats control of both chambers of congress.
The House looks mighty doable as to a democratic majority after the vote in November, however the Senate is a bit trickier since we democrats have to hold 26 seats and take at least 2 of the 8 seats republicans are defending. It is a tough haul to be able to pull off but with the majority of American voters disgusted with the republican party the likelihood of a democratic majority in the Senate after election day is at least possible if not maybe probable. The republican party has been helpful in building momentum for the coming blue wave election by ignoring the will of most of us to cater to the wealthy. That trump is on a daily crusade to not only embarrass us at home here with his brutal take on humanity, he has also stained our world reputation as a leader in the fight to spread equality through democracy.
This year will culminate with the boorish and disgusting republican party being given it's comeuppance for backhanding we the working middle poor class as an agenda. Their condescension and disregard for our health and welfare will prove to be their undoing. So despite the long odds in a normal election cycle of us democrats taking back the Senate it is a different scenario unlike anything in the past so do not be surprised at all if we not only hold all our contested democratic seats in the Senate but take more than 2 to regain the majority there. The House will be easier pickings this time because all 435 seats are up for election. The backlash against these republican representatives will be brutal and a boon for a new generation of democratic leaders. Only 297 more days...
