Fielding our Democratic candidates (#3264)

A once in a lifetime opportunity has been given to us democrats in the form of a greedy selfish republican party that has shown itself for all the world to see. They have been in control of our national government for around a year now and what we have seen is their quest to take from the working middle poor class and give to the wealthy. We are already experiencing the largest income inequality gap between the rich and the poor and now it will be even worse after the last tax law was passed by republicans. So if there ever were any doubts by anyone whether the republican party only represented the wealthy then through facts and truths those doubts have been put to rest.
So given the enormous outpouring of disapproval for not only the tax law but also the earlier attempt by republicans to destroy Obamacare we democrats have a distinct opportunity to not only argue our case against republicans but to also argue our case for democrats. What we democrats are for is saving and improving social security, medicare/medicaid into single payer, unemployment, food stamps, meals on wheels, winter heating oil for the low income, immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship, equal rights amendment being passed and made part of our constitution, increasing the minimum wage, separation of church and state, improving our public education system, reversing the Citizens United decision, while making all campaigns public funded, reactivating the Paris Climate Agreement, undoing the tax law from last year, restoring our EPA to it's original intent and many more liberal progressive ideas that need to become law.
So the onus is on us democrats to find candidates that are strong and committed to running honest decent campaigns that expose the failures of republicans while highlighting the opportunities that our democratic vision will offer all Americans. We need strong visionary candidates of all ages, sexes and race. Our democratic party is the real big tent party because we are the ones who are working to protect the melting pot ideal where all who are may have a better life within our laws and ordinances. We need health and safety structure in our society as well as structure that protects us from those who would crush merit and instead rely solely on the arrogance of advantage and privilege.
