Changing attitudes to find common ground (#1383)

Well, here we are in America, needing to figure out a way to move forward despite our different approaches to what society should look like. We have just had an election and the will of the people has been heard. Now that a general direction has been given a majority, it would seem that those who backed another general direction would need to accept the will of the majority and at least begin to see the framework of the approved direction. Hiding one's head in the sand because a defined direction was overruled, is not doing one's part in progressing our democracy. All of us need to apply ourselves to the will of the country when choices have been made. Now it is about filling in the edges of policies so that they may be implemented and either found to be helpful or found to be wanting. Life should be about the actual living of it and not so much about past theories that have been renounced. There are real problems that need immediate solutions and gearing our efforts toward those problems should be our course, not squabbling over what could have been. We are all honorable humans and as such we need to honor ourselves by becoming involved in creative solutions while not creating new problems. History has shown us that we are much stronger when we ameliorate our differences in lieu of finding common ground. Such is that time now. Our country needs all of us to accept the outcome of our national election and move forward with that will. Remember, we all want a better life and that is the goal here, not to destroy any chance of obtaining it.
