This is a wave themed post about how we democrats are building momentum toward the coming mid term elections on November 6, 2018. The building blue wave is beginning when all special elections are taken into account. Democrats are over performing everywhere, even in deep red states and although we democrats have not busted through with any major deep red state victories, in our losses we were as close to winning as we have been in many many decades. In fact we are not only losing these close supposedly blowout wins for republicans but we are destroying republicans in blue state victories. To recap, we are close to winning where we were previously unable to compete and we are winning heavily where we were previously challenged. So the tide toward democrats is building and there are many elections that have taken place recently to prove this, http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/360860-cook-political-report-predicts-democratic-wave-in-2018-midterms.
So the question becomes what are republicans going to do to combat the coming mild tide or tsunami tide that surely is coming? Many in the republican party are not aware of the tide yet because their media is not reporting such awfulness to them so as to keep them in a bubble and their president is calling most of it "fake news" as well. But there are those in the republican hierarchy who are aware and are fearing the consequences of a takeover of the House and Senate by democrats. Their options are limited since they are in control of the agenda and that agenda stinks on high with the American electorate. But they made promises to their donors and are under pressure to pass some of the worst legislation ever presented as law.
It is a tricky box republicans have put themselves in with few ways out but one of them is their ability to propagandize anything and everything at democrats to their advantage. So to combat the coming wave, republicans are creating undertows in order to stymie the wave and reduce it's effect. They will tarnish any and all democrats with lies manufactured as diversions. They will lie about the effects of their policies despite the fact of them being shown to be lying. They will call it "fake" wherever and whenever they are challenged. They will never admit that they are wrong despite all evidence to the contrary. One thing is certain, as we have seen with the Russian interference in our elections of 2016, republicans will go to any length to keep their power and continue to destroy the hopes of the American working middle poor class.
