(#6471) 14 days until the election results...keep on voting early!

      Over 14  million ballots are in nationwide from updated statistics that count early ballots from states who release them at this moment. So far this early vote period is on par with presidential election early voting. Which is a good thing. Because ballots turned in are ballots secured. No one should be shocked to be reminded that the trump administration would deny your vote if they could. So what is the safest way of making sure your vote is securely with your elections office? That would be to vote early with a tracking system in place to confirm. Or to personally hand your ballot to an election official. Drop boxes are very good at being a safe way to transmit your ballot and still for the most part the postal service is dependable.
     What isn't as secure is election day voting. For me it is a procrastinators day to either vote or not. The trumps are planning to send out poll watchers to hundreds of polling places to either disrupt voting lines or serve as a threat to voters. Why go through any potential chaos when voting early is available? There is no preciousness in waiting to vote on the last day when an assurance is ready for voting early. If you have any value for the democracy we all live within then making sure your voice is heard through your vote is the priority, not some allegiance to a particular day. I registered for mail in voting. My ballot was returned the next day and was confirmed 2 days later as being in the queue for counting by our secretary of state's notification.
     For all the reasons one might try to argue that voting is unimportant, just remember, you are beholden to how others think you should exist. Now for me that will never do! I may end up living a life I don't want but at least I will have let it be known I didn't want it. When you don't vote you have no valid excuse to complain. Letting others carry your load when you could have carried your own is less than honorable and that is how you should understand any decision not to vote. Each of us is an amazing entity within an amazing species. We all have a part in defining our future. Voting assures your vision with noble intent and that is part of what life is all about!

(#6470) 15 days until we know the election results...more than 210 million registered voters

      The mad rush to vote is on. We see with Texas starting it's early voting an enormous effort is being made by many to get their ballots completed. Setting records in many large counties for early voting on the first day. Numbers that compare with and even exceed the 2024 presidential election for first early day voting. My hunch that the early vote ballots would reach 100 million is now getting some verification although not like I had hoped to this point. However, with the No Kings rallies and trump's ever deteriorating behavior we are seeing a voting populace that has made up it's mind as to who they are going to vote for in this election. It is encouraging to see so many people aware of the importance of all of us voting.
     In my limited world the view I am seeing a duty and preciousness of our voting. It is making a comeback from the more lethargic midterm elections of the recent past, excepting 2018. It is no surprise either that trump was also the president at that two year mark. This election is different than that one in my mind. When we put a stop to trump in 2018 it was because we were getting close to a democracy ending event. With this year's midterm it isn't just close it will happen if we don't elect a congress that will defy him. He wants the white house as his retirement home as a ruler like his tyrannical buddy putin. He is so fixated on putin for whatever nefarious reason that he is working overtime to emulate him here in America!
     With at this moment nearly 11 million ballots already in the counting queue, and 14 more days of early voting the only October surprise for me will be the turnout. I expect 100 million early votes, knowing that is a tremendous expectation. However we are living in a time right now where anything less than all we have will be a disappointment. Like with Hungary ousting their dictator orban with nearly 80% turnout the formula is the same for we democracy loving Americans. With over 210 million registered voters it isn't a longshot to expect 170 to 180 million of them to vote. I hope it is even more but hope is a fickle thing, There are signs independent voters have swung back to the democratic party and with democratic enthusiasm the night of November 3rd could be special if we all do our duty and vote!

(#6469) 16 days until we know most all results...the needle is barely moving on early vote numbers

      I remain optimistic despite very little movement from the reporting agencies about early voting numbers. Counties reporting ballots returned are at a basic standstill which automatically triggers a doubt in my mind. I know that many voted this weekend yet it seems they are not in the queue yet. If the counties aren't reporting returned ballots and in person voting as often as they do during the weekdays then I could understand the lag. It is what I expect is happening yet given the trumps and their coercive tactics it is never a given with them when they are in power. For sure Sunday is expected to be a silent day as to reporting but Saturday should be as one with the weekdays I would expect.
     It is always difficult to predict how the electorate will exercise their right to vote if they do actually vote. I use myself as an example but age groups differ as well as geography. Even though the very early numbers have looked encouraging, the pace has to pick up much more steadily. There are only about 12 days left for early voting so my expectation of many of millions of ballots a day being received back should be normal. Anything less is suspect by me of interference or an extreme laziness with all the discouragement that entails. I am not sensing laziness on the contrary I sense enthusiasm. So watching the queues of ballots being reported returned is acute with me. I know some counts are not completed until after the election but many others are and daily they are reported.
      With only over 9.5  million ballots returned, this week and next week must be fast and furious if we are to reach 100 million early votes. I know we can do it and I still expect it. Yet time is running short and the likelihood we break that magical 100 million barrier becomes that much harder. This election is so crucial and getting our votes in early helps to secure them. Which is why I hope we all do the smart thing and vote early. If we don't is when we leave ourselves more vulnerable to any tricks trump may have for altering our vote. I am much older now and have far less time to live in reality but the many of you who are still living earlier in your lives this election is about you. I and others like me are standing up for you but you also have to stand up, so vote early now!
     

(#6468) 17 days left until we know the results...early voting tracking high

      Nearly 9.1 million votes have been received back into county election offices for this midterm election. With yesterdays big push for early voting as a catalyst for the thousands of No Kings rallies, no doubt early voting is going to push the previous high early vote limits beyond expectations. No proof of that yet this morning but as the numbers come in tracking early voting trends I feel hopeful they will show strong numbers. Each election early voting has been increasing with more than 85 million voting early in 2024. Early voting doesn't necessarily give one side an advantage but what it does show is enthusiasm. Which to me is mostly all on the side of democrats given our grave displeasure with republicans.
     To filter down to actual days left for early in person voting the number is less than at most 13 days. As the 3 days before Tuesday November 3rd will be closed to early in person voting. Mail in ballots will continue to arrive so there is that. So the window for early voting in person is a shorter one than 16 days. However, over these next 13 days the in person voting will exponentially increase in participation. The earliest part of early voting is for those of us who are adamant about insuring our votes are counted. It isn't so much about convenience it is about prioritizing our duty. The middle part of early voting is for those who will vote but are not pressed internally to do it right away. They will do their early voting as it is more convenient for them. The last phase of early voting will be those rushing at the last minute to get their vote in.
     As to election day itself. Most of those are older traditional voters who don't hold to the more modern form of an election season. They have their process and that is what they will follow. As time goes on those who are like that are getting to be fewer and fewer and those who are open to early voting are becoming the greater majority. Which given the enthusiasm around this election and the changing of the guard about early voting I expect over 100 million early votes. With only now about 9.1 early votes received it looks crazy for me to think 100 million will have voted within the next 2 weeks or so. Maybe I am crazy but I think not. The closer we get to election day the more dramatically voters will get their votes in for counting. We shall see!

(#6467) 18 days until we know election results...We are slightly ahead of the 2024 early vote return rate

      With this mornings count of 2026 midterm ballots returned back in total as of this moment is 8,379,615. As of noon on October 17, 2024, the returned number was 8,336,501. And it isn't even noon yet today. My point here is that like a presidential election, this midterm is critical to the voters even though no president is being elected. Yet putting a check on this president is appearing to be just as crucial as electing one. We know the blue wave election this year is a real likelihood. I won't say absolutely but I am of no doubt that the enthusiasm to curb the current president is a powerful mood in our nation and that is undeniable. Granted the election in 2024 was on November 5th and this years election is on November 3rd, the equivalence is close enough to make the assumption of it being close to on par for now.
     That makes me feel very good for our nation. That this election isn't being treated as previous midterms with too many voters dismissing their duty to vote. I am not even bothering to compare this midterm with the four years ago midterm. This midterm feels much more important. Never in my lifetime except for possibly 2008 and 2018 have I felt the urgency of an election when so many others are of the same feeling. I always feel urgency about elections because when I am no longer part of this world, I want the world to be in a better place than when I arrived in it. Since my first recollections in the late 1950's I can say for sure the world is improving. Yet only in fits and starts. Not in a more smooth ascension like it could easily have improved with less disagreeable and/or ignoble candidates.
     This election is more about correcting a horrible mistake than it is about anything else. Which means if/when we do correct it we have much work to do to get back on track with improving our world. We have had an election like this in 2018 during the first trump fiasco and now again in his second even worse administration or more accurately lack thereof administration. Today I plan to go out and support the No Kings rally in my town. I have already been informed by the Secretary of State through a text that my ballot is with the elections office in my county. So today is a day to show solidarity with like minded souls who also believe that our democracy is worth fighting for on the protest march front!

(#6466) 19 days until we know most of the results...the survival of one person one vote!

      We are ending voting in this election in 18 days. On the 19th day we will have enough results to know how this election played out. That 19th day is what my psyche is preparing for to happen. By most all accounts it will be a great day for democracy. But only if we all vote! If we all don't vote and talk ourselves into some excuse then the curse of trump will be on all of us. This is what democracy demands from us. One simple thing we do freely for the most part at our leisure. We must vote or we risk losing the democracy we now see is so very precious. I worry because the hype is there to vote but the actual voting is being somewhat complacent.
     There are only just over 7 million early votes cast so far that have been reported out by the early participating states. There are more states each day opening up their early voting systems and that will help increase early voting numbers. But what I expected was a rush to vote to make sure our votes actually get to the county elections offices. Maybe I am being overly sensitive here but I had hoped we would be well over 10 million early votes by now not just over 7 million like we are this morning. If me being concerned is about how some folks are cautious about mail in voting then I understand that about trusting the postal service given trump deceptions. However, drop boxes are available as well as early in person voting.
     I hope to see over 100 million early votes cast in this midterm election. Given previous numbers to calculate by it would seem an outlandish expectation by myself. Yet in 2024 there were over 85 million early votes cast with an approximation of about a 40% non participation rate of registered voters. Knowing that was a presidential election and this one is a midterm one the traditional fall off of voting would likely occur. But this time we are facing extreme circumstances that are not part of traditional processes. The two political parties are not fighting over how best to help Americans, we are fighting over whether Americans should be helped to begin with. The republican party is even going so far as to try to take our democracy away from us. This election is not only about socio-economic factors it is about the survival of one person one vote!

(#6465) 20 days until election results...will trump survive?

      More than 5.5 million early votes are in their states counting queues. More than half those ballots are from democrats. With the other less than half split between republicans and independents, the likelihood that at least 60 plus percent voted for democratic candidates is logical. I dare say the number is closer to 70 than 60. However this 5.5 million is just a sample size, not the whole of what will likely be for sure the most participated in midterm election in our history. Likely greater participation than in some previous presidential elections. That is just how important this election is to not only me but to everyone who is being affected by trump policies and the harms they create to we the working middle poor class.
     Early voting is expected to be more than 50% or more of the vote this year. Last year about 85 million voters cast ballots before election day in 2024. My hope is that more than 100 million will early vote this year. It is a lot I expect but not given the extreme circumstances so many of us are facing. We the many cannot afford to take time off work to vote as each of our jobs is precious at the moment. So early voting when it is convenient for us is smart and effective. We also are facing possible obstruction tactics from trump and his republican goon squad of insurrectionist types, masquerading as ice agents at the voting locations. Finding safe and easily accessible voting options is now a priority with many voters. Early voting is a great opportunity for that.
     The highest priority we voters have is to get our votes to our county clerks who can keep our votes safe until they are ready to be added to our national totals. Getting those ballots in early keeps our process of choosing our elected officials much more secure. We all know that the desperation coming from trump will amplify the closer we get to November 3rd. The best way to offset any malfeasance or deception from trump is to safeguard our vote by returning it early. The early vote is our best weapon in an all out struggle against trump. He is not going to play fair and let things happen as they should. He will instead devise his tactics around manipulating our ability to vote as each day goes on. Stop him by voting early!

(#6464) 21 days until election results...nearly 4.5 million ballots in the counting queue

      To me 4.5 million votes received back at election offices around the country seems like a small number. Yet many states are not releasing totals for all their received ballots. Generally there are 3 weeks left to vote so if anything the numbers will begin to grow much larger. There are at least still 20 million mail in ballots coming from the west coast in Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, and California. My hope that at least 100 million ballots are cast early is still possible even with the very early ballot returns total of only 4.5 million as of this morning. What we saw in 2024, a presidential election, was more in person early voting being a higher count than mail in voting on November 5th 2024. So it isn't just mail in voting that is driving early voting.
     Early trends in states that do offer both in person voting and mail in voting numbers will be watched closely over this coming week. We can compare the totals of this election, 2026, with the presidential election of 2024. We will hopefully see greater participation in this off year election than the one where we elected a president. The reasoning for this is the obvious conundrum with the trump administration being so divisive as to rally our normally sedate electorate into a panicked frenzy. The audacity of the trump cabal has triggered a backlash unseen in modern politics in my life time with the closest being in 2018 during the midterm of trump's first appointment to the presidency.
     I expect that many voters are still concerned about mail in ballots since trump tried so desperately to rig the mail delivery system. Yet he failed and even I used the postal service to deliver my ballot. Voting early gives us time to make sure our ballot is received by election offices no matter what delivery method we use. Which is why I hope to see a record number in turnout for early voting. Early voting is also a measure of our enthusiasm to vote. It shows the powers to be just how dedicated we are to what matters most to us be it our personal lives and/or our national ambitions. Each day I will be commenting on the lead up to the final day of voting, in person or mail in, and by then we should all see how this election will likely play out!
     
     

(#6463) 22 days left until election results...

      In 3 weeks we will be voting on November 3rd as the last day of this election. After a long weekend of little early voting results the expectation is that many early votes will now be added to the publicly released totals from states that do release early totals. As of this morning 3,452,849 ballots have either been early in person completed and/or mailed in ballots. As we get closer to the election many more will start to come in as even more states begin their early voting. As you would expect by now the republican dominated states offer fewer opportunities to vote early and/or make it difficult to vote by mail. Many of them also do not report figures for the ballots they have already started receiving back from voters.
     Wo what we are getting back in completed ballots are largely coming from states with democratic leadership. You can assume from that as well that those totals will likely favor democrats. The republican party is blitzing the media with ads in increasing amounts but so far the electorate is still not buying what they are selling. The polling is remaining consistent despite the 100's of millions being spent by republican operatives. Which does speak to the idea that a blue wave election is still gaining steam or holding its own. We are nearly halfway through October and the mood of our nation is not changing. We have been taken for fools and it doesn't feel good. So what can republicans say now that would make us magically forget that they have harmed us?
     The republican party does know how to spin a tale but the tales they are trying to make us believe are in most cases in direct contradiction to our reality. So the words they use are not working. No matter how many millions of dollars they spend the result is ineffective. The republicans have 3 weeks to find another method for changing our votes in their favor and nothing they are trying is working. Meanwhile the early voting continues and more states are activating theirs. Which means the republicans have even less time than 3 weeks to change our minds. The only real chance republicans have of defeating the anti republican sentiment is to suppress our votes. Which is why everyone of us who wants sanity and help for we the people must vote no matter how difficult it is made for us!

(#6462) 23 days until election results...with fewer negative Russian bots

      The fact that President Zelenskyy of Ukraine took out some Russian data centers in the last few days shows us that those data centers housed Russian bots. The bots that attack our democracy with unending negative comments on our daily political and social media reports. The calm right now is breathtaking! As Russia scrambles now to get their propaganda and misinformation back online we the people of America and around the world are reminded of what it is like when negative automated bots are not part of our daily lives. The perfect timing of this destruction of Russian negative interference gives us Americans some ground for sanity to grow as our election is only a little more than 3 weeks away.
     Russia has been attacking America and the world with its massive lies and deceptions for decades and now we Americans can catch up with the rest of the world and realize we are under threat from Russia who is being helped by the trump administration. That trump spoke ill of Ukraine for taking out Russian logistics while easing sanctions on Russia for diesel fuel, the obvious is in our faces. Russia is being helped by trump to allow negative interference in our elections. It makes sense since trump is facing a disastrous outcome in the upcoming election. I am not embellishing by saying trump is counting on Russian propaganda interference to lessen the loss of his republican controlled congress.
     What President Zelenskyy is doing to silence Russian propaganda is impressive and most welcome here in America. No doubt around the world as well since Russia has it's fingers in a lot of countries' business. It is my hope that Ukraine will find more data centers in Russia to silence to give the world a well needed respite from the garish and intentional harm Russia inflicts daily. Ukraine through this one strategic move has just shifted the propaganda dynamic of the next few weeks away from putin and trump. Which gives us truth tellers more space to give out facts for all of us to contemplate and act upon. The dissemination of falsehoods needs to stop so that we the people are given information that advances our societies instead of lessening our societies. Thank you Ukraine!

(#6461) 24 days until the election results...3,132,091 total early votes so far this morning

      Beware the polling! As we have seen with trump in the past he has done better than polling suggests. It is as if the pollsters do not capture the trump voters as easily as they capture those who are not for trump. Whether this is deliberate or they are bad at their job, the fact remains that polling is not infallible for the most part. The only poll that matters is the final vote count. So don't slack off because you want to believe the polling and shirk your bit in voting. Everyone vote then we will know the true results of polling. Some say that polling is used to depress the vote and in a bit of a complex understanding it is conceivable. If we are convinced that we are going to win big not everyone will feel the urgency to vote and then not vote. That must not occur this election!
     If polling can convince enough people not to vote then the odds shift to the candidate that is not expected to win. Sort of like in 2016 and 2024. Too many didn't vote and it gave trump both times enough votes to win. How de we the people overcome the polling? We ignore it and vote, all of us! Which is what we should do this time because we cannot fail to overcome all obstacles in containing trump for the next 2 years. I suggest everyone prepare a plan to vote and then vote as early as possible. The only positive I get from polling is the enthusiasm. It warms my heart that enough of us who are polled understand the necessity of taking back control of our government. Outside of that we must not believe we are ahead when not everyone has voted yet!
     You can see that over 3 million of us have already early voted as per elections officials. We need that number to continue to climb much higher each day as we close in on election day November 3rd. The more early votes that are received back into county elections offices the more likely we are to have a very high voter turnout. The higher the voter turnout the more likely we will succeed in dismantling the current power structure trump now uses to harm us and the world! If you haven't registered yet to vote there is still time but you will need to check with your state to see if they are still allowing voter registration for this election. Do it today if you want to be part of a hoped for massive voter turnout unlike any in our past elections.

(#6460) 25 days until election results...The hole for trump keeps getting deeper

      Over 3 million early ballots have been received back by the states. That number is only going to grow a bitt more exponentially over the next few weeks leading up to the election. All the while the unpopularity of trump is also growing. As trump has been saying on his campaign trail, vote like he is on the ballot, the likelihood of a really awful turnout and vote for republican candidates is becoming quite possible. Never say absolutely, but indications show that the republican party is depressed and falling apart. To me this is all expected given the harm and disregard trump has for our society of all folks. There is no one safe from trump and his deranged agenda to catapult himself as an authoritarian leader.
     He bathes in the glow of his imagination that he is king and we are all his subjects. There is no embellishment here just a cold analysis of facts. His adorning the white house with gold. His commemorative archway, his name on the Kennedy center, his ballroom as such. The misuse of the executive order as if it were stone cold law. His ice agents as his own paramilitary force. He is enamored of figures like hitler and putin who command respect without earning it. We see these things now, not as theories, but as real life behaviors. So the idea that he will be successful in this coming midterm vote can only hinge upon some form of deception or manipulation. Because he will not get the votes he obviously needs to keep his dream of kingship alive!
     Every major polling site for this midterm election has him so far under water with voters that there can be no surprise event that will save him from his due. He could have made choices that helped we the people but he purposely chose not to make those choices. The same with we the people. We could have given him more chances but every time we did he harmed us instead of helping us. Which is why those who voted for him in the past are thoroughly through with him now. It will be reflected in the ballots that will start to be counted November 3rd on a Tuesday evening. If regular order prevails, the beginning of the end of the trump regime begins on November 4, 2026.

(#6459) 26 days until we see election results...early vote totals about to rise significantly

      This morning more than 2.5 million early votes have been collected by the states that report their updates on returned ballots. Ballots went out in California 2 days ago but only a handful of the 23 million have been reported received back. I suspect a nefarious change in the postal rule that made postmarking ballots the same day they received them may have something to do with returned by postal service ballots getting to the local election offices. Yet, an influx of the ballots should be hitting the local elections offices shortly. It seems to me that the electorate this year understand the assignment. Get your vote done now and in as early as possible. I also am with a gut feeling the urgency of all to vote.
     There is no doubt in my mind that this midterm election will be the highest voting electorate ever for a midterm election and may well exceed several popular presidential voting elections. The reason being is that we have seen what damage a man of ill character and behavior can do to our democracy. Trusting that things are just fine and normal is not on the minds of anyone I know. With well over a third of our eligible voters not voting in 2024 we see now how easy it is for creatures like trump to manipulate a victory when he should never have been a viable option. That mistake both in 2016 and 2024 is now known and ready to be addressed in 26 days.
      I still hope to see over 100 million ballots cast in the early voting period. Whether that ambitious total appears is going to determine our intensity to get our votes in sooner than later. I do not trust anything involved with trump and his desperate attempts to salvage his last 2 years in the oval office. Which is why I encourage everyone to vote early where ever possible. Treating our ballot like the treasure it is should be all of our number one concern. My ballot is like a million dollars to me and I won't treat it like it has little value when it is more precious than money and power. It is who I am and nothing will deter me from voicing that fact!

(#6458) 27 days until the election results...nearly 2.6 million votes have been returned to election offices

      Between mail in votes cast, about 2,167,000, and in person voting at about 413,000, we see just under 2.6 million votes already in the queue to be counted. With well over 20 days left of early voting. States are now daily joining the early vote cycle this time so the numbers each day for early voting totals will continue to increase at greater rates. I hope we see over 100 million early votes cast before November 3rd. That would be remarkable but also necessary if we hope to see a huge blue wave election. I know democrats will be the largest portion of early voters as we have learned to get our vote in before it can be obstructed by the trump administration.
     It is not an unfounded precaution on our part. Over the last 18 months trump has tried to disenfranchise our votes through various schemes disguised as what is obviously a dissolutive disenfranchisement addressing a nonproblem. We saw through those and were able to muster the intelligent backlash to thwart his election engineering machinations of inequity. Yet just as the election is in full swing now trump brings musk back into government. I don't know how well our safeguards of election integrity operate but I do know that musk has deployed many new satellites recently. If electronic voting machines are connected to the Internet then a possibility of malfeasance exists in my alert mind. Which is why early voting is key for me. You don't need an Internet connection to count votes already stacked into a queue.
     I feel the one safeguard to any election engineering is to vote in numbers too great to manipulate. Like Hungary and their nearly 80% turnout to oust their dictator! When we the people engage in our democracy there will be no malfeasance. The power of our togetherness in this won't allow for those to side with fear and greed. Again, I hope to see 100 million of we the people voting early and make sure our votes are turned in to the election offices in our states. Take nothing for granted here and follow the path your vote takes once you release to into the care of our state governments. We the people is all of us so if you are registered to vote, then vote! Do not forego that immense responsibility and duty to our democracy!

(#6457) 28 days until election results...

      To date 1,639,317 ballots have been cast. As of September 2026, there are 210 million registered voters in America. Realistically it would be incredible to expect as many as 200 million of our electorate to cast a ballot but that is what our society needs to do in order to show ourselves and the world that we are not going to let our democracy crumble under trump! Traditionally each of the two political parties average somewhere over 75  million votes per election on average. What this election needs is an overwhelming decisive voting advantage by the democratic party. Somewhere at least in the 90 million range. As to what I expect for republicans it is much less and probably closer to 60 million. I know that is low for them but the disgust within the republican party is at an all time high so there should be a huge lack of enthusiasm to vote on their side.
     Now this is me being extremely expectant and in no way could I produce data to justify it. Yet my gut is telling me that in no way are we going to let trump continue to harm us without us pushing back. The pushing back time is now with this election. Over the last 18 months with special elections and primaries being our guide, we have seen all the enthusiasm to vote on the democratic side. We have also seen a major shift in the will of the independents who in 2024 broke for trump. Not so this time as they are leaving trump in droves. With the independents voting mostly with democrats and republicans disgusted with their own party a double whammy is here that logically will only benefit a large democratic wave election.
     We are now under 4 weeks away from November 3rd. Nothing to date has changed the mood of our nation that has built steadily over the last 18 months. The republican party had all 3 branches of government and did nothing for the working middle poor class. The largest voting block in our nation has been left with practically nothing from the trump administration and his acolyte congressional and judicial conspirators. We the people are on the threshold of reversing the effects of the 2024 election debacle. This moment in time is especially important as it is the moment of purposeful galvanization that most of us have been yearning for to happen!

(#6456) 29 days until election results...more states up for early voting

      Arizona, Indiana, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Montana, and Wyoming are in the early window frame for casting ballots. We are getting return numbers for early ballots already cast: https://www.cnn.com/politics/early-voting-2026-us-midterm-election-vis. With 1.3 million votes already returned back in the queue, we are starting to see that early voting is going to be significant. The expectation that about two thirds of all votes submitted this midterm will be cast during the early voting window is encouraging. Trying to glean information from this early voting will largely depend on the geography of votes turned in. Historical data will help as well in defining the possibilities.
     All I know for sure is that the early vote will be important to many of us. The mail in ballots are not easily tampered with while machine voting is less than ideal to me. I don't trust musk or those who would help him. My paper ballot is solid and I take a picture of it to keep a record of my vote and ballot number. I expect the voting machines will be accurate but I trust my paper ballot much more. I am not alone in this as to why early voting by mail is now so popular. It isn't that trump is against it even though he too votes by mail. It is because it is less possible to falsify. Anyway, I will be watching the early vote returns now with keen interest. For me generally, the more who vote early the better for our democracy.
     As we are now in the midst of this election I was thinking how important it is to our nation. Yet every election this century has felt like that. We as a society have been unable to get over the hump of electing republicans who are not good for we the people. I keep hoping that a lightbulb moment will happen and we do the correct thing and vote candidates in who actually want to improve on our lagging, equality, justice, fairness, liberty, and freedom within a paradigm where we the people are not harmed for being alive. The archaic class system and its rules need to be abolished and allow for clear clean democracy to fill the void. No one person is greater than any other one person so to begin with the field of life needs an equity foundation. If that is so controversial then we as a human beings are not worth being encompassed as an amazing species.

(#6455) 30 days until we see election results...the withering mind of trump!

      Today and tomorrow ballots will become available in California, and Ohio. More than 30 million voters will be eligible to add their voice to this election. This is a powerful day or two for America's democracy. Given the obscene and illogical rhetoric coming from trump the idea that he will be thoroughly trounced as the face of this midterm election grows by the minute. His mind is not a healthy one and with no doubt it cannot be offered as a defense. His obscene foul language at a campaign event in Ohio yesterday and then his mistaking India for Brazil last night is just further proof that he is what most of us know about him as an imbecilic vile creature!
     His 30 day rally for his republican allies is turning out to be a benefit for democrats. All of us have to live in reality. Our working middle poor class has been devasted by trump policies. Yet trump speaks to us like we are all multi millionaires and billionaires. He tells his audience made up of mostly all working middle poor class folks that our lives are so much better than they were 2 years ago. When the only lives made better are the greedy wealthy who support trump and his social and economic squeeze of the working middle poor class. Yet trump's followers who are not wealthy are not able to distinguish these facts. Which is why we are in this very predicament now!
     Each day as we get closer to November 3rd, trump is out there campaigning with his disturbed mind full of bellicose bravado. I accept that and even welcome it as it does reinforce to any critical thinking mind that trump's cognition is beyond repair and the only step forward is a vote for democrats. We shall see how this trump sequel ends up but given the last midterm election that happened under his appointed presidency in 2018, a clear blue wave year, he didn't fare well at all. I expect the same if not worse for him and in that gives we the people the power back over our government. Truly a reckoning is coming as there are not enough of his loyalists to overcome the vast amount of us who know he is not long for a padded room.
     

(#6454) 31 days until election results...with trump desperately campaigning in red states

     You know trump knows he is in deep shit regardless of his lies about how well Americans are doing. He is not only trying to motivate his base in red states but he is also working the "I will pay you money IF we win the midterms grift" He won't pay anyone anything regardless if republicans win the midterms. He is just giving people false hope for any vote he can conjure from them. Same old schtick. Congress would have to authorize his election engineering giveaway and there is no such appetite for it in congress. What appears to me and so many others is his desperation to keep his voters in line. We aren't talking about outside the republican party just within the republican party.
     Back to trump campaigning in red states it is clear that his republican party is in trouble even within his long trusted base. Races for seats in the senate and house are tighter than they should be given traditional voting patterns. The polling keeps showing him as a liability to him keeping the majorities in congress. Yet he does not care about the polling in this case because his ego is too great an object for him to believe he cannot be this unpopular. His mind works differently than ours. If it isn't agreeable with him then it is fake. If he cannot understand it then it is a trick. He is his own counsel and a fool to believe it. Which makes for his erratic behavior outside his own obvious personal medical limitations.
     He will eventually try to go beyond his safe havens of red states and venture into purple and blue states. At least I expect him to because he will hear the words of others saying he is afraid. When he does he won't be surrounded by his cult like followers so much as he will be confronted by those who see him as a disaster! Knowing trumps usual responses to confrontation he won't be able to cover those raised voices with intelligence, but instead with anger. It is when trump goes off script that he reveals his true inner nature as his words fly out with little filter to them. Then we will see trump for what he is and it won't be appealing to anyone with a critical thought in their head!

(#6453) 32 days until we see election results...

      Until the early voting states start releasing voter ballot returns it is difficult to surmise beyond assumption. I assume several things but with trump and musk it is difficult to be assured of any assumption.. So the only thing I can do is hope we get our vote out everywhere. My vote will be cast and those I can influence to vote are voting. So that is all I can say with any confidence today. When the early states do start reporting the number of early ballots returned is when assumptions can move into some likelihood. So for now we just wait. In the meantime I have marked my choices on the state propositions so that I am up on them. When my ballot does come I have all my choices preselected.
     On this coming Monday or Tuesday, California will begin mailing out our ballots. With over 27 million eligible voters here most of us will be getting the option of voting by mail. We have important propositions in the ballot that will assist and shape our state going forward. I expect that they will mostly all pass except the deceptive ones. Even though they appear to be helpful they are not! They are just another scheme to enrich the wealthy while stripping away rights from the rest of us. The republican party and their wealthy donors here in California have been such bad actors for so long that their pretzeled schemes to continue to act bad are quickly understood and soundly voted down. I expect the same this year.
     Of the 27.3 million eligible voters here in California I hope we see at least 24 million cast a ballot. I want more but realistically 24 million would be a convincing of a blue wave. This is a midterm election where historically the numbers are always lower than in presidential elections. Yet this specific election to curb and deny trump his audacious attacks on our democracy at home and abroad plus his economic and social manipulated chaos, will possibly make this election even greater in numbers than some presidential elections. It shouldn't matter if it is a presidential election or not. We the people need to vote overwhelmingly in every election as a duty to our constitution and aimed at our improving futures. That is my hope!

(#6452) 33 days until we see election results...

     I have been through my voter guide with all the propositions and voting all democratic, I am now just ready to receive my ballot. Ready for this in 3 days when the ballots hit the mail. As to the mail in option I will wait until I have my ballot filled out and in its envelope before deciding how to get it back to the elections office here in Sacramento. However, the mail has been very good here in California so I may just continue to use my same method from the past. When my ballot is ready to be mailed to me I get an update from USPS that it is in the mail. If that process is the same then likely I will mail it back because the USPS also lets me know when the postal service receives my ballot and then when the elections office has my ballot.
     It all happens within just days so if there is a problem I will still have weeks to sort it out and/or fill out a provisional ballot. I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist here so I do believe the postal service will deliver my ballot as usual. Yet because of trump I will be on it like a hawk to verify my early ballot arrived. I am just one vote but I am my only vote so it is highly important to me that nothing untoward happens to my right to vote written on a pieces of paper. We all need to trust some form of delivery but never without verifying. The trumps are keen to ness with our votes and they are not to be taken lightly. You know where you live and what the mood is in your own part of the country so like me take care with your precious vote.
     I take a picture of my ballot number and the whole voted on ballot for my own archives. It is my receipt and a personal verification system in case there is any altered attempt. That we have come to this point because an ego maniac with narcissism is unable to accept reality when it isn't his wish is beyond atrocious. But here we are. His latest rumor is keeping open the possibility of declaring a national emergency during the election to stall or delay our votes. He is a creature of bottom dwelling and his last resorts may well be despicable and deranged. Yet we know something of this nature is always possible with him but that does not deter our efforts to make this election about ending his attempts!

      October is finally here. The next 33 days of campaigning is going to be fast and furious. Even the Albatross trump will be out making people's lives less happy with his non stop drivel every day on the campaign trail. Yet most of us who are going to vote already know what we are voting for so the last minute desperation from republicans and their last ditch attempt to throw everything untrue and dishonest at we democrats will fall mostly on deaf ears. The republican party hurt we the people with glee and now want us to think we either deserved it or it was to make us better. Kind of like beating us into a better person concept that was and still is medieval!
     We are in the 21st century not the dark ages. But that doesn't matter to the trumps. They want what they want and only suffer our existence so that they have a ready supply of labor and amusement to entertain themselves. Republicans assume that we the people are not equal to them, they think we are their subordinates. So what message could they send us in this last full month of campaigning? That republicans are the party of tough love and that requires the republican party to make our lives miserable? That we should be thanking them for creating hardships and mortal harms because we deserve it as the only way to bring us to what? Heel and kneel? They could try to tell us that trickle down economics does work and it will kick in right after the election? That won't work!
     The reality for we the people is that nothing is going smoothly as it was doing mostly before trump was appointed by the electoral college the first time, even though Hillary had about 3 million more votes than him nationally. As to trump's second term, coming off the rehabilitation President Biden accomplished in cleaning up trump's covid maligned first term, it has been just as disastrous. So please tell me what will all the campaigning by republicans and money spent on advertisements accomplish? What is their message? For me this election was over last year when all the special elections took a heavy democratic turn. I expect nothing to change no matter how devilish the republican message of distortion plays out. We the people know and are already done with trump and his republican cabal.
