(#6475) 10 days until we have the election results...minorities super energized to vote

      I had hoped that white folks would be as super energized to vote as minorities but the data doesn't show that yet. Enough early voting has taken place to see trends forming. Sadly the trends for white folks are nominal at best. I cannot understand how any human being can be complacent at this juncture in our present. We are literally being undermined as a democracy by this current republican administration. It isn't just trump either. The republican majority leader of the house johnson is as bad as trump. Failing to hold trump accountable for his illegal demands and law defying acts. The senate is not quite as bad under republican leader thune but he is as quiet as a church mouse in the face of trump atrocities.
     So why are white folks being reticent to show their enthusiasm with early voting? I do not think they are waiting for election day voting so much as they are disinterested by it all. Which is a ridiculous way to have an opinion about such a thing as compared to what voting can accomplish. The early trend may reverse itself and pick up steam in the next handful of days but I do not think that is what will happen. It is discouraging to me and many like me who know what the stakes are here. White folks know the stakes as well but for whatever reason have the lack of judgment to realize how serious this is to all of us. Just under 27 million ballots have been recorded as returned to date. Yet that number is low when you think about how little time is left until November 3rd.
     At most there are 8 days left of early voting and at this pace we will be lucky to have 60 million early votes. In 2024 there were about 85 million early votes returned. Now I know there is still time to up that number but the time is rapidly vanishing. In 2024, a presidential election that gave us trump, about 155 million ballots overall were returned. We need to equal that number or surpass it to make sure that an obstacle to trump is secured. If that isn't enough to make sure all who can vote actually do vote then it isn't that we failed to educate our populace, it is that we don't deserve a democracy. The American arrogance of not caring will be our downfall should we not make the next 8 days count heavily in the idea that no one can ever take our democracy!
