(#6291) Will the Virginia Supreme Court allow the redistricting vote?

On Monday, April 27th, oral arguments are to be heard before the Virginia Supreme Court about the reasoning of the state judge for blocking the redistricting vote. On the surface, the idea that this trump backed judge has outthought the Virginia Supreme Court, seems ridiculous. The Virginia Supreme Court just last month approved the continuance of the vote for redistricting. For this trump judge to immediately after the disastrous to trump result to have found some logic that vindicates his blocking the legal vote is again beyond reasonable. For me and most Americans, this block by the judge is just a desperate attempt to delay the inevitable.
We will see how this plays out come Monday morning when oral arguments are made to deny the citizens of Virginia their voice. In my minds eye I can picture the skepticism of the Supreme Court Justices as they sit and listen for any nugget of wisdom from the ruling of the trump judge. Not liking the outcome of the vote is not the same as the process of the vote and that has been deemed constitutional. I can confidently tell you that this trump judge would not have found the vote unconstitutional if it had been defeated. Which should tell you what this is really all about. Crying over spilled milk and making the whole nation watch the crying over spilled milk. I won't say how this is going to go but I do know the Virginia Supreme Court is not foolish.
As to when we will learn what the court decides after the arguments on Monday I can only say that the sooner the better for everyone. Having a quick resolution over this gives everyone enough time to adapt to the ruling. In less than 7 months the midterm election will be held and getting an orderly participation is absolutely required for a just and fair election. Gerrymandering to me is not how politics should be sorted but since the republicans want that as a baseline then the rest of us had better be prepared to do the same if we are not to be put at a political and societal disadvantage. I will say this, the Virginia Supreme Court wouldn't necessarily allow the vote to occur and then somehow change it's mind and say that the process of the vote is unconstitutional. I will leave it at that.
