Our foreparents gave us a document that lives beyond their own minds and souls. An amazing document that not only begins the process of turning our civilization toward an equality of opportunity never before experienced in a modern society but one that continues to evolve to embrace the manifest destiny of creativity and innovation of our modern society. As we improve on the foundation of democracy we also add to it. As if our constitution were a maturing child in need of culture and education. So when we end up with people like republicans who only see in our constitution the need to return to it's beginning we begin to understand their vision for the future of our society.
No longer will women be equal partners in life with us men. No longer will people of color have rights that equal those of their previous endentureres. No longer will our constitution lift up all men, women and children to have the best chance to live a happy and fulfilled life. This is what republicans hope to gain from reversing all the policies to stifle poverty, ignorance and respect ever enacted as our nation has grown so large and bountiful. The republican party has a goal of setting itself up as a lord and master to those who would say we are not your property! For they want those who are not them to be less than who they are. The republican party is not built upon the ideas of merit and industriousness, on the contrary, they are built upon the ideas of privilege and special advantage.
So we democrats, who do believe that our constitution is a living document, continue to fight republicans so that we can preserve the advances made to not only modernize our society but to allow for even more equality than when our precious constitutional document first came to life. We democrats believe that equality of opportunity, respect and dignity for all human beings has to be the starting point for all of us, not just some of us like republicans practice. We democrats believe that ignorance and poverty are scourges that have no place in an enlightened society. We democrats further believe that when the honor and nobility of our democracy comes under attack from without and within we will never stop fighting to purge the elements that stain the most beautiful living document that has ever been formulated to govern the true wants and needs of a society. We will never stop fighting the forces that threaten our living American constitution!
