(#6058) I am so proud of Ukrainians!

While I sit here and anguish over the loss of core understandings here in America I do find it refreshing to see the Ukrainian people remind me that democratic values are the most important values of all. Yes, even more than the supposed moral and ethical ones so discarded here in America. When we cannot even be free to express our opinion without threats and coercion then what does it matter who loves who and how much money we can take from each other. The theft of democracy is the rotting of our character. We no longer try to take the high road when that road is littered with the disappointment of the caring.
Why should we try to be better folks when many others just call us fools? It must be nice for them to be so ignorant of what an intelligent compassionate society is capable of attaining, that they even relish in destroying the possibility of such. What their ignorance fails to warn them of is that the downfall of their democracy will be the downfall of everything they currently take for granted. How can we feel any remorse or sadness for them for their looming misery when they are the ones responsible for bringing about ours? The failure of our educational system is mostly to blame as we didn't make sure to teach the basics in a way that would never fail them in the future.
What we have here in America is too many who are heading toward leadership without leadership skills. No burgeoning wisdom to guide them. No ability to reason, analyze, and conclude using logical concepts. No understanding of the very nature of humanity and its inescapable ability to evolve and adapt. We have people seeking power only for the purpose of being powerful. You have to know what that outcome will be by just looking at trump and before him shrub! I see the end of our democratic dynasty coming about not because it is something I would ever hope for but because too many others chose not to know what we are all about.
