(#6040) So trumps threats of backlash on putin get blown over by putin visit

      It was just last week when trump said that putin had better agree to a ceasefire or he would be upping his game against Russia. Then all of a sudden putin agrees to a meeting in Alaska and all is forgiven by trump. Instead we get the message that it was a great meeting with more hope to come. Meanwhile Russia continues its march to destroy Ukraine. Looking at this from the outside I see putin manipulating trump from being angry with him to being his bestie. One thing has always been clear to me and that is that if trump had his own way Russia would already be flying their flag in Kyiv.
     So all the bluster around trump and his back and forth about Ukraine is just nothing but trying to figure out how best to help himself and eventually putin. Those two are the primary focus with the Ukrainians and the rest of America somewhere off the radar. We are talking about protecting democracy in Ukraine and to see our disgusting leader betray the oath of protection signed into law after the first invasion of Ukraine by Russia in 2014 is traitorous and not worthy of life. So many of our American citizens gave up life and limb to protect and defend democracy over the course of our history and for trump now to betray that is an abomination to our constitution, rule of law, and our moral compass.
     The red carpet is reserved for dignitaries who honor democratic values. Now that symbolism is shattered. How trump gushed over shaking putin's hand is also a disgrace that will go down in history as an act of utter contempt to honorable people. That putin has been adjudged a war criminal makes no difference to the 34 count felon trump. This whole affair with putin and trump is like being in a nightmare that won't let us wake from. Something will have to change if we are to stop their chaos from destroying our ethics and civility. Can we do it without resorting to vigilantism or extrajudicial actions? We will see.
