trump thinks his lies are helping our nation (#3288)

Oh the weight of the world in on trump's shoulders. He feels the enormity of that weight every second as he balances the weight he believes is his to burden alone. Well he has sold himself a delusional bill of goods is what he has done. The weight of any world on his shoulders is imaginary. trump is the kind of guy who has to make things up or let's call it what it is, lie to make things appear to be important. He wakes up every morning knowing that his big sacrifice daily is to lie to us for our own good. He justifies his lying as his way of saving our nation so for him to ever stop lying would be for him to admit that he doesn't care. He believes his destiny of lie telling is what keeps us all safe and secure.
So those who think that trump will somehow magically become a great statesman they are deluding themselves. Because first off the illusion of lying as a rule is illogical. None of us needs to be lied to when the truth of things is the better remedy. The truth may be harsh and unwanted but nonetheless the truth is what we all need to be able to comprehend our society as to what ails and improves it. Second, trump is no great decerner of who needs to be lied to as to their best interest. That trumps lies just happen to coincide with his own enrichment is obvious enough evidence of his lack of objectivity when it comes to lying for our own good. and lastly but certainly not least his lies carry an effect of not only making our nation less informed but dangerously so to the extent that rational behavior is displaced by irrational emotion.
So trump's strategy of lying as a great sacrifice he is making for America is absurd. He acts indignant and condescends to those of us who do not appreciate his survival of the fittest vision and actually is hurt that we don't honor him with accolades on bended knees. Of course he feels betrayed by those of us who cannot nor will not accept his reality because we are not as delusional as he is. So the rub is there and will not go away because after all trump has staked out his course and in his mind it is the only correct one despite all evidence to the contrary.

The republican party is fevered to destroy democracy (#3287)

When you are willing to let an enemy foreign government help you take and hold power you are showing that you don't care about democracy. When you are happy to lie, cheat and steal in public office in order to control the power of government then you are showing you don't care about democracy. When you are determined to make the wealthy even more wealthy over the mass majority of Americans then you are showing that you don't care about democracy. When you are more condescending to your constituents then you are beholden to them then you are showing you don't care about democracy.
All these things republicans are showing to all of us regardless of how it is spun. Now it is incumbent upon us the electorate citizenry to take control of the one power we have to directly change the current dynamic of control of our government, our vote, and utilize it. There is no doubt a democratic wave building and for those of us who are part of that wave we are here and loud and clear but for those of you who are not yet part of the wave let me be clear. There is a real constitutional crisis happening right now and if you are not going to be involved in stopping it then you will make the rest of us, as well as you and yours, suffer because you failed to engage. There is nothing more precious than our democracy and if trumps have their way it won't be a democracy as we know it, it will be a takeover of our government by Russia and the treasonous trump accomplices.
If you think for one minute that trump is a better alternative to democracy then you are about to be shocked to your core if it happens. The trumps will not allow you to be a voice in his takeover. No, he will instead make you a pawn and cannon fodder in his plot to enrich himself and his ilk while empowering himself and his family for the next several generations. The ideal of Americanism will fall like a rock and be replaced by the survival of the fittest hunger games scenario. What little is left for the mass majority will be fought over like rats fighting over table scraps. If that is not enough to get you off your ass and involved in the voting process then you deserve your fate with an extra amount of hardship. But what you will be doing to all of everyone else is the scourge of an Albatross that you will wear all the days left of your life.

The destroyer of our world is trump (#3286)

To steal an unfair moniker from Marvel's, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Daisy Johnson, we are living with a real live destroyer of worlds in the form of trump. He is methodically undermining our allies that are historically pro democracy. He is cultivating our enemies who are anti freedom with the same vigor he is poisoning our alliances with our allies. As we have seen over the last year plus, he is hell bent on taking from the working middle poor class and giving to the wealthy. All of this to say that with trump and his conspirators in the republican party our nation and our world is under a direct threat of being antagonized into a world conflict with the types of weapons available to destroy our planet many times over.
If ever the time to stop trump is to happen it must happen as soon as possible to keep our world intact. There is nothing safe about trump from this point on. He is under increasing pressure from the Mueller investigation that is showing signs that it's focus is on trump himself and that does not bode well for how his reaction will be when he actually figures that out and realizes that his time is about to be up. What he can do in the meantime is cause all the devastation and destruction at his disposal given his desperation and the fear of his cowardice. We are at a critical juncture in time and if we are not able to put a stop to him he well may put a stop to us. We have seen that his loyalty is to himself, not the American citizenry.
Like a nightmare scenario this is real and putting the truth of it out there may seem overly dramatic, but then again does anyone really think I am being overly dramatic given trumps nature? I know I don't. He is all for himself unlike any living person I have had the displeasure of being lead by and that includes nixon and bush the younger. He is not my president in the sense that he does not represent the values of freedom, fairness and equality that I do. He is the polar opposite in that he embraces the worst natures of human beings while trying his damndest to nullify opposition to him. He is an open wound that has turned gangrenous which leaves us the option of dying with him or healing ourselves by severing him from the body politic.

Recognizing care for me always too late (#3285)

I must be one of the worst at recognizing when someone I care about is giving me signs that they care about me too. I suppose it is a shell I have put myself in for all the times I thought I recognized care but was soberly rebuffed. One's hope can only take so much before it starts to give up. So I am not the great outlier I may at first thought since I was only trying to protect myself. But in that protecting I missed a few real efforts by others to break through to me. Of course I see it on reflection because that seems to be my modus operandi. Always figuring it out after it has left and gone. Be that as it may though I can see that at least I am figuring it out however late it is. So the work I need to do before I my end eventually comes is to make sure the shell I have built around me is broken and I am once again at the mercy of the fates.
I know better now what signs to look for when trying to recognize care. For me life would be so much more simple if we all just said how we feel about each other without having to preface everything with a sign. No more trying to guess when the truth of the answer is always better, regardless of which way the answer goes. But that is hopeful and wishful thinking. I expect it is because we don't want to set ourselves up as easy targets for the wolves out there and also the romance of finding someone through the maze of life with the clues and guesses is somehow magical. At some point in life though the reality of how we feel about each other should overrule the magic of the chase.
All this to say is that I am a loser at guessing who cares for me and that is my lot so far. One of these days I hope that someone will make it more than obvious for me because obviously I need more than just the regular clues. lol. Life is fun no matter what but sharing it with someone who wants to share it back is what most all of us strive for and why not me too? Anyway, this was fun since I am sitting here with a smile on my face and inside laughing at myself for even writing this. But it is here now and I am not going to erase it. Good luck to all of us and maybe a little bit more for me. :)

The frailty of the human heart (#3284)

The emotional aspect of our heart is both magnificent and heartbreaking and everything in between. The physical aspect is one tough organ. Yet it is the emotional aspect that has captured me this morning. It doesn't matter what the cause is except that it is powerful. I am reminded of my own fragility when events like this are occuring. We humans, well at least those of us with a conscience and that can feel empathy are occasioned through life with the joys and the sorrows of circumstances that are no discriminators to whom or when. Life is like that, full of immeasurable hope and crushing despair with all the less than powerful emotional times in between.
As I think about the best of what has happened to me I am happy that I took the chance to feel the joys that they brought because when the worst of what life brings it gives me some solace that it was worth it. Because my emotional life is a huge component to who I am and how I think. We all have our walk through life and our validating moments when our hearts are filled with such unimaginable happiness and utter emptiness. When we start out in life the moments of happiness seem to be at a premium as opposed to when we are winding down in life the moments of utter emptiness seem to be the prevailing occurrence. I get that and accept that the way we structure our societies it is more often than not the same for all of us who are of a normal nature.
Accepting it however, especially the times of despair do not weaken the sense of loss or the sense of helplessness. In my little world the things that happen both miraculously and tragically both are overwhelming. For someone to look at my life from the outside they may say that in the big picture my emotions are being felt about such insignificant events. Well and true that is but to me, in my heart, they are as if the world doesn't exist because I had given all of my heart. All of this to say that the frailty of my heart is in evidence today so you can extrapolate out which emotion I am feeling this morning. It may prove otherwise but as a man of evidence, I cannot but feel the logic of what my heart is telling me and no amount of mental jujitsu can bring me to any other conclusion.

trump stealing education from our children (#3283)

The pursuit of happiness is not something that can be done in a void. We have to be educated as to what life is about and what life could be so that when we decide what we want we have all the options before us. How can we do that when our children and not given the facts and truths of reality? We cannot do that without being educated as to what is real and what isn't. Then we need to know what is possible and now currently impossible. Our imaginations and creative minds then are able to see our futures with some glimmer of hope. Without a real education to start out in life with we are not going to master the space we live in. It is as simple as that. For those like trump, they don't care what happens to those of us who are not wealthy or powerful.
Which is a mistake since most of us are not wealthy or powerful. We are the modern day lower middle poor class who once were part of the upper, middle, lower and poor class. We have become in essence the cannon fodder needed by the wealthy to keep their wolves at bay, even we ourselves are mixed in with the wolves. The trumps and their republican sycophants have no use for we less than wealthy because we are not selfish and brutal like them. They are more akin to psychopaths than normal people which is why they disdain all that is unwashed and unclean. Republicans and trump make for the unwashed and unclean to exist by taking away anything that might give we non wealthy a chance to succeed and then they condescend to us as if they are our betters.
All of that will come to a screeching halt come November 6th 2018 when the mighty wave of lower middle poor class voters go to the voting booth and kick the majority of republican politicians out of office. Then we democrats; liberals, independents, moderates and progressives, will begin to reverse the onslaught of the wealthy against the rest of us. That trump will be relegated to nothing more than a child screaming for his binky. After that the next presidential election will finish the job of removing the worst of republicans from office and our nation will be rightly set back on course to promote equality of opportunity, fairness and justice for not only all our citizenry but mostly for our children who will once again be part of our society's main focus to teach and learn about what is real and what is possible.

Mueller hurry up! (#3282)

The worst of what trump can do to us is still out ahead of us. He is learning the ropes now after a year in office and has begun to use the levers of power in a more concerted effort. Those who are around him continue to deflect the heat from him so he doesn't know his true reality come Mueller time. Which is great, but it is also a curse since we are not yet at Mueller time and trump is still determined to destroy what good is left in America without what seems like a care in the world. I fear for those policies and people who will be hurt by trump and republicans in the meantime so please don't waste a moment Mueller in your case against the most despicable president and corruptible republican party we have ever known.
Not only trump but his accomplices in the Senate, House and as yet to be determined the Supreme Court. The vile nature of this reality and trump leading it is abhorrent and needs to end yesterday. Because today and beyond there is real danger that real honest good people will be irreparably harmed and our national identity stolen from us forever. Despite the vigor of our opposition there is only so much we can hope to modify. Yes, modify, we are not in a position to stop the ongoing democracy destroying momentum that republicans have but at times we can slow it down. Eventually if we slow it down long enough the next general election will be upon us and if we keep our minds right and ignore the onslaught of republican propaganda we can actually stop the madness.
But what would be helpful in the slowing down process is for Mueller to begin his criminal prosecutions. The definitive nature of corruption is not something that is vague or unidentifiable. It is specific and explainable. We need to see some heads metaphorically roll so that we retrench the republican party into a defensive mode and keep them from advancing on destroying our nation. For the days going forward Mueller is the key to get us to the midterm election without the last gasp of trump and his sniveling enablers being able to do their worst to you and me.

America slips further behind... (#3281)

As each day brings a new trump action America is slipping further behind. Because the actions of trump are not progressive, they are regressive. He is taking us further away from equality, from modernizing our energy, from improving our educational system, from improving our economy and just in general from democracy itself. The day will come when he no longer can just willy nilly take our country from its roots but that day has not arrived and how much further behind will we be by the time that day comes? I suppose I should still be thankful that he hasn't killed most of us yet and that no matter how far behind we end up it is still better than not being alive.
The reversal of integrative policies and the embracing of segregating ones is abhorrent but we must keep fighting to stop or slow trump down. His failing to advance or even maintain clean energy and his protective policies aimed at reviving dirty energy is another reversal that has disaster as it's end game. The destructive nature of his education secretary reflects his desire to make education a privilege and an advantage for the wealthy and a difficult attainment for the less than wealthy and is the most corruptible aspect of his disdain for the working middle poor class. And if taking all of that backwards wasn't enough he has just accomplished the dirty trick of expanding income inequality to an overwhelming degree in favor of the wealthy and to be a back breaking burden for the rest of us. These are but a few areas where we the vast majority Americans are being shunted to our past by a brutal force named trump.
As I countdown the days we have left to live with the trumps and their republican conspirators I am nonetheless invigorated to keep battling. The special elections, from yesterday and the days past since the 2016 general election, have shown that a blue wave with liberal/progressives policies at it's core is building a growing wall of water that as of yet has not crested that surely will have no mercy within it for the trumps and the rest of the republican party. So what time there is left before the next several special elections this year and the November 6th midterm elections the barely bearable will be beared because the growing light at the end of the tunnel is the massive force of democratic will that will end the reign of trumps and begin to reverse the dark backwards fall of our great American nation.

I care and I wonder, this is who I am! (#3280)

For the whole of my life I have been struggling against the constraints of society as they are. Even at my earliest age I knew that life had to be more than this. So it was hard for me to assimilate into the regular routines expected of me. I know I am no different than all the other rebels out there who for one reason or another were not understood as to their rebellion. It is more than the roles we were expected to conform to it was that we were born for greater things than just being a cog in the machine. We knew this but couldn't quite put our finger on the underlying turmoil. So as I progressed through my personal rebellion I was forced by situations and people to move from my rebellion to some limited type role of assimilation.
I began to see the futility of my rebellion since I couldn't label it and then dissect it with logic and reason. But what I was starting to realize was that it wasn't so much a role in life I was expected to play but being part of a burgeoning society that was slowly inching toward enlightenment and modernization. So although I couldn't advance on the unrest of my rebellion, I could placate it with the idea that we were all stuck and some of us were less able to deal with it. But like all things, time has a way of dictating to us our comprehensions. I grasped to the idea that it isn't so much a physical rebellion I was going through as a mental one.
I moved from being a thorn in the side to a salve for wounds. I made myself practical where I could and improved myself where I was lacking. I began to understand that the type of person I would become was more important than anything I might have imagined as to my purpose in life. My newfound understanding allowed me to make myself reflect who I am. I care about all living and many non living things. It is who I am. I also have a wonder that is far more curious in nature than just simple need. It is a want and a desire that goes to the core of who I am. I must know all I can about the mystery of our existence, our Universe and our past, present and future in it. We are not done evolving as a species and with more of that precious time that we all seem to take for granted, we will get there despite our own inability to make the most of it.

We need an Equal Rights Amendment enshrined into our national constitution (#3279)

Equal rights for all of our species. No exceptions whatsoever that we are all given the same opportunities all the way through to the same legal protections. There should not be a distinguishment between any gender, race, age or any other identifying marker for any human being. Equal rights are human rights and that should be memorialized into our national constitution through an amendment. Too often we see women being treated as lesser than men. Too often we see minority racial groups being discriminated against in every aspect of our society. To often we see the elderly treated as disposable when in actuality they are a treasure. We even see men treated badly by other men simply because of them living their lives in pursuit of happiness.
I know our constitution is under attack by the majority ruling political party so maybe right now is more impossible than not to demand the equal protection under the law we all deserve yet now is the time to mobilize for just such an amendment. We failed in the early 70's to get the 38 states to ratify the then attempt at equal rights but getting close shows just how much it was needed then and even more so needed now. We must never give up on our quest to make our democracy more perfect and if it is the brutal republican party that is energizing us at the moment to make a new start from this current republican rule then we need to bring along our vision in full strength so that when the change occurs in our political power structure our policies change with them.
Reversing the law that allows private money in our political campaigns and establishing public funding will help our democracy tremendously in that the quality ideas of our candidates will rule and not the size of their wallets. We need to make health care a single payer program like the rest of the civilized world has done and protect all of our citizens from the scourge of health problems that living in an evolving society perpetuates. There are great things to be done and first and foremost is the ousting of republicans beginning in every special election this year and on into the next many general elections. Then we can get about the business of improving our democracy for all of our citizens while building protections for us into our national constitution.

The difference between republicans and democrats is level of care (#3278)

A great meme has been passing around on facebook for several years and it typifies the major difference between republicans and democrats. It goes something like this; If something bad is happening and it doesn't affect republicans they don't care. However we democrats say that when something bad is happening and it affects anyone it is wrong and that is why we care. Do you get the distinction? The republican party is about what affects them and the hell with the rest of us. We democrats say that despite something bad not affecting us we still care to stop it because we care about all human beings, yes, even republicans.
So another analogy is like the coward who cares only for his own skin and does whatever he can to escape the danger no matter what happens to the rest of us. We democrats on the other hand are like the brave. We stick our necks out for others despite any danger it may prevail upon us individually or collectively, we stay and fight and not run away like the cowards. Because the only way to subdue and defeat danger is to stand up to it and fight back. We democrats get that. It is not like we are totally honorable in the sense of pure self sacrifice, because we know from history that when you allow one or more parts of our society to be demonized for no cause other than nefarious intent, then the rest of us could well be next. The slippery slope of not defending some of us will eventually lead to us defending none of us.
So we fight for equality and fairness through justice in our democracy. Our democracy is what holds us together and while republicans are part of our democracy they are also the ones tearing at the fabric of it. So a price by them must be paid when the stopping time comes. Their brutal and ignorant decisions are worthy of sobering penalty and so that history will learn the great lesson of what treason and selfishness can bring we must come down hard on their heads. We cannot abide the cycle of treachery that this last half century of republicans have embraced without the stark reminder of what treachery's price will be. They will learn that being selfish and cowardly are two traits anathema to a democratic nation of good character and unwavering honorable personality or they will live as banished from all civilized society within it.

The republican party is trying to bleed government (#3277)

If it isn't as plain as day yet that republicans only care about helping the wealthy and increasing the military and police forces to protect themselves from without and within then you might be naive. That we are stupid enough of a society that we are allowing this to happen to us is shameful. Just because republican donors have big money and spend it to confuse and lie to us about what is happening to turn us away from our traditional progressing democratic party should not be enough to give them what they want. It is on us to recognize the danger that we have allowed ourselves to be put in and stop it now while we still can. If our democratic wave does not wipe away republicans this time around I fear that we will never be able to freely vote republicans out of office again.
So over the next 9 plus months we need to keep our overall perspective intact that republicans must go and be punished for their treachery and hatred for the American working middle poor class. We cannot fall for the false attacks on our democratic leaders or our democratic policies. This is where republicans and their colleague Russian hackers inflicted enough damage to get an ill fitted president elected with less than almost a 3 million vote disadvantage. Their selective attack gave them enough electoral college points to overrule the will of the American people. They felt no shame in doing that in fact they gloated and then lied about the nearly 3 million vote disadvantage.
Remember this and don't forget it over the next 9 plus months that republicans are in the process of dismantling all the goodwill and care we have as the greatest democratic nation on Earth. When they are through with it, if we don't stop them on November 6th, 2018, we will no longer have a functioning democracy. What we will have is an autocratic oligarchy where a few selective wealthy will be colluding with the leaders of the republican party to practice their racism, misogyny and middle class destroying agenda at will. But all of that goes out the window so to say if we democrats who are still allowed to vote will actually vote when the voting time comes. Since republicans will not make a national holiday of voting day then we need to make it one of our own even if we all must stop work and other activities to do the one thing that is crucial for November 6th and that is vote for every democrat on the ballot!

Life is too short so stop just marking time through it (#3276)

We all will end our days soon enough so what we do while we are still breathing is important. Not in the big picture so to speak important but nonetheless we each have only so long to live so what are we doing with it? A waste is still just a waste so being productive about something purposeful is smart and honorable. I know this much about myself, I need to be helping life for all species' to exist in a universe that has more options to explore and understand. I am old school in that I believe that we, all of life, are more than resources that cannot be underestimated. The more diversity we have among us the better the chance that one or two of us will be the key to solving some great mystery.
I cannot overestimate this part enough, we are magnificent and amazing as life forms and the sooner we learn to appreciate all of our contributions to what could be the sooner we can start a process for doing just that. Enough of the old survival of the fittest brutality, and let's learn to understand why bringing more of the respect and dignity to all of life is our future. Our planet is ripe for coalescing together as humans and other life forms to evolve toward greater parameters offered through time and space. The next great frontier is not on our planet but out into the vastness of the incredible yet to be known physics of not only our solar system but the Milky way itself and beyond.
My frustration with our slow evolvement toward our true manifest destiny, outer space, is evident in every aspect of my life. Not on scale with Einstein, Kepler or Galileo, but still wishing that our actions would eventually catch up with the potential of our minds eye. The many of us alive today who see space as the unifying paradigm of our Earthly woes are constantly annoyed that the rest of us cannot seem to get our feet off the ground. But as knowledge and wisdom continue to advance the next generations will be unsatisfied with just walking around on Earth when they could be flying around in space. We will get there as a species but as my time and others' time wane the realization that we will never see the fruits of the great imaginations of our species come to fruition, the flame of our dreams grow ever dimmer.

Let's keep telling what trump is destroying (#3275)

If we use what trump is giving us then we have most of what we need to defeat republicans most everywhere. Some places will defend trump even if he threatened to kill them, so everywhere else we just have to show how trump is destroying the fabric of our nation. We know already that trump tried and failed to take away health care for tens of millions of Americans. We know that he forced passage along party lines of tax break bill for the wealthiest while ignoring the majority of us who will see little help from his giveaway to the wealthy tax law. We know that trump said that the first day of his second term he would go after social security and most likely as well medicare/medicaid. No doubt unemployment, food stamps and welfare will be trimmed or deleted as well. trump calls it entitlement reform but we know it as taking our paid tax dollars for these insurances and rerouting them to either the military or more tax cuts for his wealthy donors.
No doubt that trump is against equal rights for women and people of color and he is against the Dreamers who were brought here as children but have assimilated nicely into our society. With Nicaragua and Syria now signatories to the Paris Climate Agreement, America is the only country left who is not a signatory because trump pulled us out. Remember, every nation on Earth is for the climate pact except the trump crowd and America by extension. There is so much to run elections against trumps and republican policies that there is little doubt that the building of a blue wave election is a probability. I haven't even underscored the policies that we democrats want if given the power to enact. The long stalled but absolutely necessary Equal Rights Amendment to give women constitutional protections on par with men. The expansion of social security and medicare to fit the changing needs of our population. The reversal of private money in politics so that all elections are public financed to allow for ideas to rise to the top, not a wealthy person's agenda through their wallet.
The year 2018 is finally here and in less time than we know it there will be special elections and then the midterms to make our case as democrats as to why we need to kick out republicans and elect democrats. We have all the arguments we need and now we need participation by our base. No more skipping elections because we have better things to do. We have nothing better to do than to set our nation back on the footing of democracy where all voices are heard and no discrimination is allowed!

Election results from last night (#3274)

With democrats winning the biggest prize last night in the traditionally republican stronghold, we can now continue to advance the idea that a blue wave is coming. The democrat won the Wisconsin state senate race by a 10 point margin in a heavy republican district. Furthermore the few other state races races for state assembly seats that republicans won in very heavy republican districts, democrats still garnered mid 40% of the votes. Although not wins for democrats in those state house assembly seats the narrowing of the margin of loss is another sign that democrats are surging in deep red districts. So the premise I offered yesterday that a sweep of these offices by democrats would surely advance a huge coming blue wave is tempered but not spoiled as to a wave nonetheless.
The win in the state senate race is the real deal about a wave election. That seat had been held by republicans since the year 2000 and was considered a safe republican pickup for the most part. Yet the democrat won by a margin of 55-45. Quite a swing of more than 40% points since the general election of 2016. Remember, these special elections are happening in mostly deep red districts yet democrats are the ones who are exceeding expectations. In blue districts last night the democrats mostly ran unopposed which speaks to the blue wave theory in another light. the republican party is having a hard time fielding candidates, decent or otherwise, to run against democrats. As well fundraising is going heavily to democratic candidates and not to republican nearly as much.
So of the 3 options I offered yesterday it seems that the 2nd option is the more probable one. That being that the wave is still building but is not a tsunami type wave yet. We can take heart though that as the special election season advances next week in Pennsylvania, there will be more opportunities to show how much of a turnaround democrats have accomplished. The deep red federal district next in play is still not safe for republicans and much like the "safe" state senate seat in Wisconsin is ripe for a democratic pickup. The stakes will be higher as trump and his accomplices will be on the ground in Pennsylvania urging for a republican victory but with the low approval ratings of this divisive, middle class destroying president it is yet to be seen if anything can help the republican party and it's now swirling rush down the toilet.

More state elections today (#3273)

Another chance to put our finger on the pulse of our coming democratic wave. Every step toward November 6th 2018 will give us tests to see how we are progressing in our battle with trump and his republican party enablers. This is just another in that process. The two elections in Wisconsin and the one is South Carolina will give us a good test from the states that majority voted for trump in 2016. The numbers are more a measure than who actually wins given that all the races since trump have shown margins democrats historically have been improving upon. However should democrats prevail where previously republicans held office then the idea of the blue wave will continuing to grow is real. If however not and republicans prevail then the blue wave may just be more hope and less fact. But if democrats close the margins on the total vote then the idea of the wave continues, but with some trepidation.
We will know by tonight, possibly early tomorrow which way the fortunes of democratic fortunes will fall. I suspect that we will see closer margins in these races but I am hesitant to say that we democrats will win outright where republicans previously held these offices. Even though I am hesitant, I am feeling more likely than not that democrats can pick up all 3 of these contested state seats. All of these seats up for election today were held by republicans. One died, one accepted a position in the trump administration and one resigned after being indicted on ethics charges stemming from taking money illegally for personal use. So we will see how this plays out but democrats have nothing directly to lose in these elections while republicans have all to lose.
Indirectly though we democrats have something to lose if we don't put up the continuing wave numbers we have seen throughout last year. It is vital that our base come out and vote regardless of the outcome perceived by those who project these contests. The sheer will of our fight against trump and his republican party demands it of us. As in Alabama where the unthinkable actually happened we democrats can win where others have said we could not so why not again and why not now! All we have to do is make sure we cast our ballots when the ballot casting time comes. That would be today so get out there and vote like your life depends on it because in the bigger picture, if not actually yours, someone's life actually does.

Racism is an intellectual and moral failing (#3272)

First let me state the fact of race. We are all part of the human race, period. As human beings we are different in our appearances and our thoughts. What we are not different in are the facts. We may not like the facts and avoid them at all costs but that doesn't change the truth of the facts or their validity. So that leads us directly into the lack of intelligence I first referenced. When we are not able or not inclined to accept the facts of any one thing we are letting the world know we are not intelligent. Now I don't know about you but making sure everyone can see our lack of intelligence is in itself a res ipsa loquitur proof of a lack of intelligence. Yet many in our societies find that holding onto an ignorant concept is more appealing than letting the ignorant concept go in lieu of acknowledging a fact.
As to a moral failing let me be perfectly clear. Racism is hatred of one type of human over another. Yes, hatred. Let me explain. Whether it is just some fear or inconvenience that makes us shy away from some races and gravitate toward others is still at its core an immoral hatred. As a human being who was born into this existence with no choices made by myself it is less than human to blame others for not being like me as the same could be said for others blaming me for not being like them. Either way none of us has a right of privilege or advantage over the other simply based upon factors that have nothing to do with us being human beings. Our different aspects and uniquenesses are to be celebrated as examples of how complex our species has become, not denigrated.
When we find that we are tending toward racial uncomfortableness it is something wrong within our own perception that allows the fear within us to grow. We are the problem when we allow hatred to manifest itself. Our inculcations and adapted negative stereotypes are at fault so we must rise above them and accept the fact that we are all human beings born on this planet without any agenda of our existence. We humans are here and no matter what we look or behave like we are still the same in that regard. So anyone who would stir the pot of racial difference as a demeaning trait is obviously trying to gain some unfair advantage or put someone or some group at a disparaging disadvantage. Either way racism used as a cudgel to vilify is both unintelligible and particularly atrocious morally.

I find my comfort in logic and common sense (#3271)

When I was a young child I needed a furry animal or a blanket to make me feel comfortable. When I got older I needed religion to comfort me against the reality of life and death. As I got older and more in the know with knowledge and imagination I gave up all those symbols of comfort for the real deal, reality. I cannot change the truth of things nor the facts that support them. But what I can do is accept them and actually embrace them as the foundation of my existence. My earlier fear as a young child then a young adult has been tempered by the fact that we all will die either earlier or later than we think. So for me to salve my fears with the illusion of comfort was illogical and immature.
Now many of you stalwart religious types will say hey! I am not childish nor immature in my belief of religion as the truth. But I would say back to you that I didn't say you were I was talking about myself. I only speak for myself because although we human species are generally all the same we are different as individuals in our perceptions of what is true and what is a hoped for truth. I am on the side of what is true and let the hoped for truth go with my childhood. Certainly somewhere in my core there is a sliver of a hope that all of this reality is some kind of test and that the test givers are in control. Yet I don't succumb to that thinking because logic tells me we are here alone in a Universe that is chaotic, yet evolving. I know this as it is represented by evidence every single second one wants to examine everything I know about that is tangible.
So although my comfort in reality seems to you to be a hollow one I differ in that the truth of anything is my goal and that is what I live for, not an alternative. I know that we all must be a warrior in how we live our lives. We must take what this existence is offering without trying to make the nature of that offering into an illusion. The beauty of my accepting reality as my comfort is that I can only go forward as best prepared as I can. When the unknown strikes I am not taken by surprise since most of what is left for me to understand is the unknown. I don't struggle with whether something is in conflict with my belief system since my reality system has only struggle and overcoming as it's nature. That is the maturity I have come to embrace and embrace it I do since it is my only real form of comfort.

297 days until the election (#3270)

The turn of the new year signalled to me that it was time to gear up seriously toward the midterm elections but another milestone was just passed a few days ago when we went under 300 days. We are now at 297 days until the day we sweep republicans from office everywhere and now is time to put our metaphorical noses to the grindstone. There are now 31 current republican office holders in our national congress who as of today are not running for the seats they currently hold. 12 of them are running for different seats. So despite the overall majority republicans have in both houses and the many seats in the senate that have to be defended by democrats, the momentum is on our democratic side to not only keep our seats but to take enough seats from republicans to give democrats control of both chambers of congress.
The House looks mighty doable as to a democratic majority after the vote in November, however the Senate is a bit trickier since we democrats have to hold 26 seats and take at least 2 of the 8 seats republicans are defending. It is a tough haul to be able to pull off but with the majority of American voters disgusted with the republican party the likelihood of a democratic majority in the Senate after election day is at least possible if not maybe probable. The republican party has been helpful in building momentum for the coming blue wave election by ignoring the will of most of us to cater to the wealthy. That trump is on a daily crusade to not only embarrass us at home here with his brutal take on humanity, he has also stained our world reputation as a leader in the fight to spread equality through democracy.
This year will culminate with the boorish and disgusting republican party being given it's comeuppance for backhanding we the working middle poor class as an agenda. Their condescension and disregard for our health and welfare will prove to be their undoing. So despite the long odds in a normal election cycle of us democrats taking back the Senate it is a different scenario unlike anything in the past so do not be surprised at all if we not only hold all our contested democratic seats in the Senate but take more than 2 to regain the majority there. The House will be easier pickings this time because all 435 seats are up for election. The backlash against these republican representatives will be brutal and a boon for a new generation of democratic leaders. Only 297 more days...

trump attacking our melting pot nation! (#3269)

Long before there ever was a trump our nation was being built by others from all over the world. Many if not most came here to America to escape religious persecution and authoritarian rule. So it boggles my mind that our current leader in washington has embraced both selective religious dogma and steel fisted rule as his modus operandi. Discarding the over 2 centuries of evolution our National Constitution has given us to favor his own simple minded hatred of others and the non wealthy. That trump lost the election by close to 3 million votes and is only president through a quirk in our electoral process and/or some yet proven illegal tampering, has not stopped him from thinking he has a mandate to destroy our democracy and vilify those who are not white.
We have always been a nation built on the backs of our immigrants since first and foremost we are a country of immigrants, with exceptions to native Americans. Although we have the national stain of slavery on our record we have overcome it's legal premise with one that says all men are created equal. We have yet to give women that same constitutional protection but it is close to becoming a reality in the near future, through the Equal Rights Amendment, if we can just survive this year until the elections in November. I say survive in the sense that as trump calls other non white nations "shitholes" he has instigated a new round of hatred toward him that may just be the impetus to him striking out in some illogical way that sweeps us all up in a major conflict. I hope the powers that be that can do something about him, his republican co conspirators, realize that life without trump is better than death with him.
I cannot say how badly we need Mueller to find the smoking gun evidence needed to actually charge trump with a crime and bring his sad excuse for a human being self to justice as quickly as possible. We are living in dangerous times with a man/child as president who thinks of others as less than human. Believe you me that if I could somehow gain the power of invisibility the problem of trump and republican conspirators would find a solution not to their liking. Yet I don't have that power so instead of wishful thinking we must all stand together and unite against the trumps and their slithering servants to protect what is left of our decency and our democracy. Otherwise we will find ourselves devoid of rights and the liberty to choose our own destiny.

trump will pay for his crimes! (#3268)

The fact that trump thinks he is immune to his criminal actions is a mirage. Once he is displaced from office however that happens he will then be just another ordinary citizen and as such will be held to account for his actions. I know that privilege and advantage are permeated throughout the wealthy class and many times the wealthy get away with their nefarious acts through the network of big money and power. But this is different. That trump has pissed off a large percentage of our populace there will be few powerful and wealthy who will be willing to associate with him or even try to protect him. We will have our pound of flesh from him and that will never be ameliorated.
He is living on borrowed time as it were and the long arm of justice though it may be slow will catch him when the time is most opportune. I find some satisfaction in that he will pay and pay dearly. It isn't as if we could muster some sympathy for him because he has never given us the chance to see him act vulnerable and worthy of some empathy. No, his braggadocio personality has been void of remorse and self critique. He can only continue to being his arrogant self absorbed self with his eye toward demeaning and harming the working middle class as a rule. So as he keeps digging a hole he will never get out of we can rest assured that we will put him in that hole and take away his shovel.
I had been worried since his alleged election that he would be able to destroy our democracy and kill off those of us who would never kneel to him. But it seems that our nation has not lost it's collective mind and there is enough resistance to him to stop him before our nation goes down in flames. Given that the end result from his efforts is what I now look forward to seeing, I find some contentment. Him disgraced and shackled behind bars for the rest of his life as a reminder to all of us what a traitorous carnival barking sexual violating thief and liar gets when they cross the will of the American electorate. His time is coming, as well as for his republican colluders, and come it will so that in itself soothes the savage beast in me that he triggered by threatening our democracy!

Voter suppression is the republican strategy (#3267)

Well we knew they wouldn't just take the coming blue wave sitting on their hands and now we know their strategy. They got a federal judge to make it easier for them to suppress voting, https://thinkprogress.org/consent-decree-rnc-221b4caa8c77/. But we democrats have a way to avoid this attempt by republicans to once again steal our election and that is to make sure our voting registrations are current. We cannot sit back now and let others decide for us whether or not we can exercise our franchise to vote. The republican party is deviously clever in finding ways to eliminate democratic voters off the voting rolls. Remember, republicans control a majority of the state houses in America and thus can finagle how voters are pushed of the voting rolls.
First we democrats must recognize the strategy of voter suppression by republicans and make it clear to everyone that this is not just some policy aimed at securing our elections. This is an attempt to deny American citizens who vote democrat from having their right to vote. It is plain and simple theft to sway a positive outcome for republicans. The republican party knows they are up against a growing wave of democratic voters who are frustrated with being ignored by republican politicians. They want to if not stop the coming wave at least slow it down and preserve some seats in office that they might ordinarily lose if not for voter suppression.
We cannot allow any voter suppression tactics to be successful because this democratic wave needs to wipe out every republican possible without exception. We need a brand new Congress with a heavy democratic majority so as to counteract anything trump may decide to do against the will of the American working middle poor class. Voter suppression is coming and we know it now. There is no reason for us not to make sure it does not affect us. But we must make sure and check our registrations to make sure they are not subject to denial of voting rights. The republican party has very few realistic options to obstruct the course of the coming blue wave so let's make sure that the few attempts they do have to influence our vote are not successful.

The braggart has no humility (#3266)

It is a choice to be humble. I know this because I was often a braggart myself and what I found was that nobody likes a braggart except we see if you have power and the illusion of wealth. Then the braggadocio is tolerated and even encouraged. This is what we have with the republican party's leader heir trump. He was born into wealth and raised with no expectation of sacrifice on his part. He floated through school not even learning the more than simple aspects of reading, writing and arithmetic. His inability to have earned his place in our society is highlighted by his advantage and privilege. Given everything from the start and bailed out many times since he has given himself as an example of how achieve devoid of merit.
This is the struggle of America and the democratic values we are trying to instill in all walks of our public life. Equality of opportunity, fairness and justice equally served is the goal but not when we get the fractured man child trump as our leader. He basked in the privilege and advantage and thinks of himself as clever and insightful. The rest of us are just not up to his standards even though he has no guideline for standards other than reach and achieve success despite any sacrifice. Apparently the rest of us are fools for not cheating and taking shortcuts our whole lives like he has.
There is an unsteadiness about trump as well. He seems to think the world revolves around him and all reactions to anything are somehow a reflection directly or indirectly aimed at him. There is a consensus that he may be at the stage where what little objective thinking he had has devolved into an early stage psychosis. He is much like the wounded king who cannot trust his own allies not to end his reign and the fear that brings to him clouds any good judgment he may have had in his life at some point in time. His example is one of a cautionary tale. How we ever ended up with a carnival barker as the leader of the greatest democracy on Earth should never be allowed to happen again and all adjustments in the future must be to protect our democracy from the unfortunate stain trump has left on our constitution and our society on whole.

The inevitability of the Mueller investigation into the Russian meddling in our elections (#3265)

If you dare to accept the truth of things, there is only one political party trying to get to the bottom of the Russian insertion into our elections, the democrats. Now that by itself is not conclusive but to not finally come to a common sense probable reason is to avoid reality. High ranked Republican politicians have accepted donations from sketchy wealthy Russian citizens. Now that coupled with the republican indifference toward investigating Russia becomes more than a probable as to the reason, it is now most likely. If I am wrong please let me know where I went wrong in this logical progression. Now two seemingly coincidental events are hardly rock solid evidence. I know this but to me one coincidence allows for doubt, but with two the doubt becomes highly suspect.
Then of course is the fact that trump has not criticized Russia for anything that inhibits democracy. He not only doesn't criticize Russia but he has not signed the continuing Russian sanctions bill on his desk. And in concert with that the majority republican leadership of Congress has not pressed him to sign it. Just another observation that is congruent with republicans and Russians having some sort of dishonorable contract, whether blackmail or other threat, at the heart of it. Instead of the United States forcing Russia to improve it's living standards for it's citizens, Russia, through republicans, is forcing us to degrade our living standards down to Russia's. This is all happening right in front of our faces so the fact of it is not in dispute. I don't care what you call reality, it is still reality and in my book a truth is still a truth.
This is why the Mueller investigation is so important and why republicans are worried about it's end game. I have been confused lately as to why trump and his republican acolytes have not ended the Mueller investigation either through mafioso type means or down right authoritarian ones. But as long as the Mueller investigation continues the more the inevitability of the takedown of trump and his accomplices will come about. It is my hope that the Mueller investigation is allowed to proceed without the interference of the guilty so that within 6 months or so we may finally have a nation that can see what the republican party, and it's worst members, have done to our national identity.

Fielding our Democratic candidates (#3264)

A once in a lifetime opportunity has been given to us democrats in the form of a greedy selfish republican party that has shown itself for all the world to see. They have been in control of our national government for around a year now and what we have seen is their quest to take from the working middle poor class and give to the wealthy. We are already experiencing the largest income inequality gap between the rich and the poor and now it will be even worse after the last tax law was passed by republicans. So if there ever were any doubts by anyone whether the republican party only represented the wealthy then through facts and truths those doubts have been put to rest.
So given the enormous outpouring of disapproval for not only the tax law but also the earlier attempt by republicans to destroy Obamacare we democrats have a distinct opportunity to not only argue our case against republicans but to also argue our case for democrats. What we democrats are for is saving and improving social security, medicare/medicaid into single payer, unemployment, food stamps, meals on wheels, winter heating oil for the low income, immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship, equal rights amendment being passed and made part of our constitution, increasing the minimum wage, separation of church and state, improving our public education system, reversing the Citizens United decision, while making all campaigns public funded, reactivating the Paris Climate Agreement, undoing the tax law from last year, restoring our EPA to it's original intent and many more liberal progressive ideas that need to become law.
So the onus is on us democrats to find candidates that are strong and committed to running honest decent campaigns that expose the failures of republicans while highlighting the opportunities that our democratic vision will offer all Americans. We need strong visionary candidates of all ages, sexes and race. Our democratic party is the real big tent party because we are the ones who are working to protect the melting pot ideal where all who are may have a better life within our laws and ordinances. We need health and safety structure in our society as well as structure that protects us from those who would crush merit and instead rely solely on the arrogance of advantage and privilege.

Republicans lie, it doesn't matter what they say (#3263)

Whatever reasoning republicans have to utilize is what they will do. It doesn't matter if it contradicts what they have said in the past or present. As long as they can somehow in their minds justify changing or keeping policy that they want regardless of what the American people want. Excuses and convenient reasoning is all they need to keep their mostly hidden agenda of turning America into a corporation and a piggy bank for their donor masters. We the people are an afterthought since our only utility to them is as a resource. From being cannon fodder to serfs our only value is as a tool not a civilized being.
So why do we vote for them? Are we a mess of intellectual and behavioral beings that we cannot distinguish between what we want that is best for us over the worst of what we think we deserve? I cannot fathom the depths of our simplicity. Yes, that was an oxymoronic thing to just say. How do we make such simple thoughts so complex? We all deserve a life that gives us equal opportunity with justice and fairness as a base. That is where we should begin from. Let us all live out our lives from the same starting point so that the word merit is actually in evidence. That we have those with money and power filled with advantage and privilege only demeans the ideal of Democracy. If we are not all patriots of Democracy then what are those who are not?
As the evidence continues to be exposed about the republican party and it's myriad ties to the wallets of Russians we can only assume that the republican party is being bought out by a foreign enemy that wants America to fail. I suppose this idea of treason will eventually make it's way into the minds of most Americans as being wrong but that too many think that treason is okay as long as the ends are justified then there truly is no hope for Democracy. Yet maybe there is. This year in November a national election will take place and if that blue wave should happen, then we, America, will survive the republican onslaught against our precious Democracy and all that our Democracy stands for.

The end is coming to the despicably manipulative republican party (#3262)

It isn't amazing to me that republicans use excuses for what they do as long as it fits their narrative. Like the Marijuana controversy. It is a states right issue, which republicans have been wholesale trying to tell us that should be the standard, until it isn't. I had learned over a short period of time long ago that republicans will say or do most anything to achieve their goals. Not the American public's goals but their own special brand of authoritarian, paternalistic goals. They will cheat and steal as well as lie at every turn if it helps them either keep control or gain more of it. The shameful antics of the republican majority senate in not confirming former President Obama's nomination to the supreme court as an example.
Or the passage of the latest tax overhaul law that had no input from the 48 liberal senators who were shut out of the process. Republicans rammed through this tax bill despite not reading it or understanding the consequences of it. As long as their campaign donors got a tax break that was enough for them. We democrats hold ourselves to a more civilized manner but that doesn't stop republicans from undermining civility and being underhanded to get what they want. This has been going on for decades and it now has come to fruition for republicans through the person of trump, who epitomizes the nefarious intent and debased behavior that republicans have been able to hide until now. Even to the point of colluding with a foreign government who is not an ally to change the fundamentals of our voting process to their favor.
Well the most important aspect of this is that although the republicans have control, they are inept and uninformed as to how to use it. Make no mistake, all advances over the last century by the working middle poor class are under attack but luckily for us republicans are too uninformed as to how to wield their power more efficiently against us as evidenced by their defeat to dismantle Obamacare. The clock is ticking on them as now in November of this year we go back to the voting booth to have another say as to who our leaders will be. For sure republicans will feel the pain of their attack on us in a way that even their mighty powers of manipulation and propaganda, through theft, lies and cheating will be ineffective and a surge of anti republicanism is about to come crashing down on their selfish greedy heads!

Republicans only possible hope is to impeach trump (#3261)

I have tried to look into the future and see just how republicans could stop or at least slow down the coming blue wave election and the only real option that may work is to impeach trump. At least that would show some dignity which the republican party is nowhere near showing. A problem with impeaching trump however is the complicity the republican party is involved with as to trump and the Russia investigation. There are too many ties between leading republicans and trump with regard to donations and back room deals that the republican leadership does not want to come out. Knowing trump from this last year he isn't the type to take a beating without spilling the beans on his accomplices.
So if republicans do impeach trump for the an obvious cause they had better do it with an eye toward saving their own skins. I doubt that is possible but what do I know anyway. I am guessing that impeachment is going to be too devastating to the republican brand and as such will not be employed regardless of the demand from the majority of our nation for it to be so. So what else might be available to republicans as a defense come this November? The economy has been steadily righting itself since the last republican administration nearly destroyed it and seeing how trump has no qualm with taking credit for those things Obama set in motion there could be some propaganda that way to make themselves look good. However with their new tax bill and it's huge deficit and giveaways to the wealthy and theft from the working middle poor class, I doubt the economy will be anything positive for them.
So what has been successful in the past for republicans to use to get votes? They could keep their march going to disenfranchise more voters but that may not be the wisest choice since the rest of us are all over them about that. They could try their huge propaganda spending to paint democrats as filthy whores who are worthless takers? Well it seems that the worthless takers are the wealthy and those who are letting them get away with it are the republicans. As to democrats being filthy whores well that won't work either as it is quite common now for republicans being exposed as adulterers, pedophiles and sexual harassers far beyond anything democrats are guilty of. So what is left other than republicans squirming and denying anything and everything that they are guilty of? I say unless they impeach trump there is no way they have a hope of hindering the coming wave that will surely rip them out of public office.

We are the blue wave! (#3260)

There will be nothing to stop us now that trump has shown himself to be an incompetent that is hell bent on destroying the working middle poor class to favor the wealthy. As well the republican party that keeps supporting him through all his ineptitude is finding that their complicity will drag them down as well. The blue wave is the rest of us who are shocked that a con man was elected through alleged illegitimate means and then lied about his campaign promises to help the rest of us. The republican party has wrought this on us and for that all of them are facing a wave that could well push them all off the edge of our flat Earth. Oh wait, oh well at least out of public office. :)
There are a few smaller elections coming up in the near future months ahead and the pulse of our democratic determination will be available for all to see. If anything, the past few special elections have shown that our blue wave is still growing not cresting. Unfortunately for republicans their lack of care for us the working middle poor class is going to dislodge them and that is well and good. Fortunately the rest of us are going to actually be that blue wave and we will demolish those republicans who sought to make us their serfs. Since the turning of the calendar to this year of 2018 I have been getting much more excited about the coming general election. It is 10 months away but those tem months are going to be a fierce time of gathering our the forces of our momentum to overwhelm republicans come election day.
There is nothing to stop us now since republicans have done the damage to us they promised. What they will get back will be harsh and deserved. For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction, so the republican party is going to find out just how awful they are in just 10 short months. Their record of voting and public statements are clear. They cannot run away from it and in the meantime before the election the painful effects of their voting will be felt by us the blue wave and further our retribution against them. They seem oblivious to the coming wave and to me that is a good thing because they will be caught with their pants down and for all the world to see their embarrassment.

Carl Clark was here (#3259)

What is it about we humans that we have to leave our names on things? I know what it is about trump and his narcissism but what about the rest of us who are satisfied with carving our names into picnic tables, trees or our desks? The act of letting the Universe know that we are or were alive has some deep seated need to be validated as existing. I know it is with me. On my desk at school and even now on my desk at home I have my name carved on the desktop. I know I have devalued the desk, lol., by carving on it but who really cares but me and I don't care. :) Yet the act or the impetus behind the desire to leave my name behind with a "was here" is interesting. I didn't know what my topic was going to be this morning so just letting my mind flow out into type has brought me here.
Surely the Universe knows that I am here since I am a creation within it. Of course everything could be just chaos but if that were the case I expect I wouldn't have existed in the first place. As well I don't believe there is some intelligent force designing our atomic motions either. So somewhere in between all chaos and intelligent design is where I feel we are. I guess my need to put my name down in a place where it may be seen is a form of acknowledgement that I have a voice and it isn't loud or braggadocious, just real. I started this blog site as a way to get my voice out where my voice may be heard. The alternative was always being in a small group where my voice was stifled. I am a good person and living in a world where bad things happen too often it was necessary for me to make known my hatred of bad behavior.
"Carl Clark was here" is symbolic of me not knowing why I am here or how I got here. Here being in existence with all the rest of us life forms. The Universe that we are made of as yet gives no clues as to why or how we became but the scratching on my desk at least lets someone else know that I was here and had the wherewithal to proclaim it. I am not looking to be glorified like trump but instead to be recognized that although in my own limited way I was not just someone who lived and died without trying to understand and know the why and how of time, space and existence. My little phrase like all the others who have done the same is just a reminder that although we don't know the answers we are or were still looking for them.

Giving instead of taking, the true democratic spirit (#3258)

I have always found that since I have been a strong person and able to take care of myself for the most part that I could help others who were less able. It is a natural process for me because I have seen what selfishness and greed can do to a person inside. I tried to be that selfish greedy person and all it did was hurt my soul. I realized that by taking instead of giving I was robbing of others who deserved a fair and decent life as well. Yes, we all deserve a fair and decent life! Because my selfish greedy acts took what wasn't fairly mine and therefore made me a thief. I got that! So I quit doing it! I was able to raise my head above the dog eat dog philosophy of republicans and instead embraced the ideal that enough was enough for me.
I didn't need to keep up with the Joneses or have the greatest best new thing to show off to any who would be envious. I found that I was satisfied with being just an ordinary soul who could wear with confidence and pride hand me downs if that was all I had. I accepted that wealth wasn't my end game. Being a good person was and is to this day. I like who I am. I am not ashamed of myself nor hiding secrets because they would destroy some illusion I have created. I am just me with a goal of being a good person who tries to make life better for all who are around me. I find joy in the simple things in life like keeping up the yard and doing the necessary chores to keep the household somewhat functioning. I don't need to have a private jet to take me to all the glamorous hotspots in the world.
I am well satisfied with using the talents I have acquired over the lifetime of my existence and occasionally using them to better what is around me. I take pride in writing this blog everyday so that my thoughts and insights have a forum for expression. My animals have my attention and for that they gift me with their love. I could have more in my life and yet may still but for now I am happy that I don't make life worse for others or denigrate life in general. I do no harm as a rule unless that harm is done in defense of an attack by a bully or an arrogant ass! I share what I have so that more than just myself finds peace and a safe harbor. My soul is where all my wealth is accumulated and in that I am although not wealthy in economic means, I am wealthy in the goodness of my heart.
