Long before there ever was a trump our nation was being built by others from all over the world. Many if not most came here to America to escape religious persecution and authoritarian rule. So it boggles my mind that our current leader in washington has embraced both selective religious dogma and steel fisted rule as his modus operandi. Discarding the over 2 centuries of evolution our National Constitution has given us to favor his own simple minded hatred of others and the non wealthy. That trump lost the election by close to 3 million votes and is only president through a quirk in our electoral process and/or some yet proven illegal tampering, has not stopped him from thinking he has a mandate to destroy our democracy and vilify those who are not white.
We have always been a nation built on the backs of our immigrants since first and foremost we are a country of immigrants, with exceptions to native Americans. Although we have the national stain of slavery on our record we have overcome it's legal premise with one that says all men are created equal. We have yet to give women that same constitutional protection but it is close to becoming a reality in the near future, through the Equal Rights Amendment, if we can just survive this year until the elections in November. I say survive in the sense that as trump calls other non white nations "shitholes" he has instigated a new round of hatred toward him that may just be the impetus to him striking out in some illogical way that sweeps us all up in a major conflict. I hope the powers that be that can do something about him, his republican co conspirators, realize that life without trump is better than death with him.
I cannot say how badly we need Mueller to find the smoking gun evidence needed to actually charge trump with a crime and bring his sad excuse for a human being self to justice as quickly as possible. We are living in dangerous times with a man/child as president who thinks of others as less than human. Believe you me that if I could somehow gain the power of invisibility the problem of trump and republican conspirators would find a solution not to their liking. Yet I don't have that power so instead of wishful thinking we must all stand together and unite against the trumps and their slithering servants to protect what is left of our decency and our democracy. Otherwise we will find ourselves devoid of rights and the liberty to choose our own destiny.
