(#5853) One foot in front of the other...

     Why have we done this to ourselves? Life is hard enough without us making it harder on ourselves when we could have made it easier. Doing this to ourselves twice in eight years is beyond stupidity it is masochistic. Self harm is never the answer but it seems it is for us. We Americans are habitually unintelligent. We don't seem to care about simplicity and what it offers. We are not smart enough for simplicity. We are an embarrassment to social progress and forming a society that is envied. If you are not the leader type then at least choose people who are. Not someone less intelligent than yourself.
     It cannot be that difficult to see the moronic nature of someone like the current president. He has no clue what he is doing except that if he isn't showing brute strength through harming most everyone of us then he isn't doing what he thinks is required of him. His idea of being like the tyrants in the world who can control their societies is his dream come true. Which is what he is trying to do here in America. Yet his die hard followers cannot see what their eyes and ears are recording. The disconnect is what alarms me and makes me ask the question of why? Why are we so less than simple that a brute can control what we do and say through us willingly giving them the power to do it?

     I think too many think our society is too free and they want someone to reel it back in. To the point of giving power to a person so devoid of humanity that they themselves don't mind suffering as long as he makes those who want to live free suffer more. What a deranged reality to hope for. Instead of letting each of us live our own existence within the rule of law they would rather destroy our democracy so that only a few realities are allowed to exist while gravely punishing others for their non compliance to their vision. We Americans are becoming a virus on the body of humanity and it is now our destiny to be either running rampant beyond containment or have an antidote applied to us. Either way the beacon of freedom we used to be is now a distant memory.
