Are the people of America finally taking charge? (#3576)

It would seem that there is evidence of that. With nearly 50% of eligible voters voting in this midterm as one indicator since the last midterm the percentage was around 39%. The ousting of politicians who condescend while ignoring the will of the people has increased dramatically this election with still more races undecided that could add to the total of the cleaning of our House of Representatives. The nearly 400 new democratic office holders throughout the United States is another clue. Given this mounting evidence I would say that America has awakened from its slumber and is now growing in the engagement of the politics of our nation.
For many it is a first time experience and as such is setting the framework of a lifetime of activism. There are so many problems in our society that other democratic societies have solved it is not surprising that many have had enough and want to do something positive for our lagging nation. As a catalyst we have the women's movement to claim their equal and rightful place in society with men. Then there are the teenage and young adult Americans who have had it with the republican love fest for weapons of mass destruction since their generation is bearing the casualties of it. We have our immigrant populations and people of different color who have had enough of racism and wealth inequality. Then we have our seniors who are constantly threatened with the taking or our retirement and necessary medical insurance programs.
It is no wonder that the republican party is getting its backside kicked everywhere for their nefarious part in sabotaging our nations people for their own gain. I do not expect a diminishing of this momentum as the inertia of justice and fairness is awakening enthusiasm with most all our citizenry. A new manifest destiny for America is emerging and it is a thoughtful one. In which the principles of democracy and the logic of common sense and happiness are merging into a comprehensive vision for democrats that smothers the petty and pretentious republican party. We are only just beginning the purging of our politics of the decay of republicanism and the next step in that purging will occur on November 3rd 2020.
