Still killing Americans with a knee on the neck (#4407)

Another man was killed after police kept a man down with a knee on his neck for 5 minutes. It is insane that this would happen after the protests of last summer over the death of George Floyd in the same way. I cannot fathom how this can be allowed to happen again without criminalizing the act. We here in California are going to have to answer for this and since we democrats have supermajorities in both chambers and the governorship the expectation that the qualified immunity that police officers are given must either be changed or eliminated.
Our police force is necessary and should be given some leeway when dealing with difficult situations but when the death of our citizenry is involved due to an intentional act of restraint that has no business being in their arsenal for subduing a person then that officer must be held to the full extent of his act of the cruel and brutish behavior. In no scenario should a knee to the neck ever be deemed acceptable. Death to a suspect cannot be an outcome when the situation is not desperate nor imminently harmful to an officer. The only reason to use such a maneuver is to cause harm. For that the officer must willfully want to end the life of another human being.
I will be advocating for the end of qualified immunity or a significant change to the law that does not allow the continuation of the knee to the neck death move. When officers find that prison awaits them for killing citizens with this move surely they will find that not using that maneuver is the better option. The cruelty that must be inside an officer who would keep his knee on the neck of a person should also be a wake up call to the allowing of such folks into our policing fraternity. We need strong men and women who want to serve our communities with honor and not such of those who are less than honorable when it comes to inflicting their own brand of justice under the color of law!
