(#5739) 17 Days left

The desperation with the republican party to image up a mirage of respectability is laughable. Their cabal of millionaires and billionaires can only spend money, they can't do magic well enough to trick us anymore. Those of us who are beyond any doubt about what this election means for democracy cannot be baffled with their bullshit or dazzled by their phony pyrite brilliance. We are steadfast in common with the ideal that the freedom, equality, liberty, fairness, justice, and opportunity provided by democracy cannot be replicated by anything else the snake oil salesmen within the republican party can muster up as an illusion.
I still have some, but not much, faith in the opposing party in general to do the correct thing this election and distance themselves from trump. If what I think will happen, that about 10% of republican voters will vote for Harris the democrat then this election is over before it even started. Yet that is only a hope of mine not a proven reality. So what must continue is we democrats doing everything we can to get out our vote and get the still unsure voter, voting for democrats. Whether we win by one vote or 10 million is not the point here. Winning is, because there will likely not be a do over in 4 years. The republican trump has made clear that this will be the last time his voters need to vote if he can win this election.
Using trump's own words is our guide to what he will do and no amount of cleaning up what he meant will ever change his intent when he spoke them. Take him for his words and then decide if you are willing to let go of our democracy so he can become a king. That is what we are voting on right now. Whether we give trump and his bootlickers our democracy or if we keep our democracy and have Kamala Harris lead the defense of it. I will take Harris every time. She is not going to deny us our rights as free human beings. She is not going to make us suffer for some desire trump sees as his destiny. She will protect democracy so that every child growing up in America can pursue their dreams without being told by trump to get back down into the lower and punishing classes of no advancement.
