(#5748) 8 days left

The implosion of trump these last few weeks has been baffling. I get that he is mostly an idiot with little regard for others but his constant missteps and self inflicted wounds are appearing to be more strategic than accidental. He is sabotaging his own campaign yet still tries to present one that is important to him. Almost as if he is fighting inside himself between two opposing desires. Does he want to win or does he want to lose? I know it makes no sense because if he loses he is prime for his crimes and their sentences. Again, baffling. Yet if I consider him being cognitively impaired it kind of makes sense. He is losing his ability to segue sensically between thoughts.
Not that his sense was anything to be emulated. I expect that I am not the only one who is having a problem trying to figure out how his actions and words will help America if he is elected president. As each day closes in toward the final casting of ballots it is becoming clear that he is losing. Which for me is a beautiful thing. A necessary thing as well. He is anti democracy in that he is for America's enemies instead of America's allies. He also wants to cripple our constitution in ways that would give him more power than our other branches of government. I have seen selfish people before and he is one of them. Not one who would be happy to help others. I don't see the value he would bring to the greatest democracy on our planet.
8 days left is a very short time. Yet Kamala Harris is like a whirlwind campaigning with an effervescence that is admirable. She knows the stakes are make or break for our society. She also knows that our nation is divided and she is empathetic to that. She has a plan for our moving forward together that addresses our immediate physical needs like food and shelter. With 8 days left the momentum is clearly on Vice President Harris' side. Our nation and the world in 8 days are hopefully going to be lifted up with such hope and action that the worst of what is happening now will start to falter. With a Harris victory I see our species gaining a step forward instead of with trump, a step backwards.
