(#5747) Nine days left

It is 9 days before the election and already 40 million plus citizens have voted in our election. I would not be surprised if that number doubled by November 5th. It is a new era we are living in where making it easier for our citizenry to vote has become generally available. It makes sense to cater voting to fit the needs of our modern society where the busyness of our lives often leave us with little time on a specific day. We are not yet at a truly easy to vote paradigm but we are getting closer. There are too many republicans who spend most of their time trying to make voting hard for American citizens because they are trying to limit voting in areas where citizens are less likely to support their agenda.
That is not how traditional electioneering has generally been. Normally the political party seeks to offer policies that attract voters to their platform of ideas. We still do that within our democratic party. What the republican party has been doing for many decades now is obstruct non republican voters to allow their voters to squeak out victories in gerrymandered districts. That is tailoring tht voter to the party instead of tailoring the party to the voter. We democrats tailor our party to the voter, but republicans do not. It is becoming evident to even the most undecided voter that there really is a difference in the two parties as to their vision for our future. The republican party wants to run our lives without our consent. The democratic party wants us to cherish our rights so that we can protect them.
In a short explanation, republicans want to rule over us with their opinion of what we need. Democrats want us to rule over ourselves through consensus and agreement. It really is that simple. Freedom is actually a word that has meaning. We democrats want us to be free to choose who we are and we want the liberty, equality, and protections to live as who we are. Democracy allows us all to be who we are and that is what we democrats are defending. The republican party has become less about democracy and more about obtaining power in order to rule as overlords instead as equal citizens. Do not give your voice and power over to the republicans who would only demand that you be who they want you to be instead of who you want to be! Vote for every democrat on your ballot early or on November 5th.
