Harris had her closing argument at the Elipse in DC last night focusing on trump and his instability. What trump did a few nights earlier at Madison Square Garden in NY was nothing short of a hatefest. Harris has shown that she is the adult between these two regardless of trump being nearly 20 years older. He is like a child who cannot have his way and she is like a diplomat, always willing to find a way for all to be happy. The contrast between these two is as different as different could be. So now the question is as the early vote is streaming in a mile a minute, who is going to win? I don't like predicting these things but I know how I feel about it.
The last time trump was up against a very impressive woman he squeaked out a victory because of low voter turnout and the antiquated electoral college . Well that will not be the case this time. Voting is on pace to equal or set new records over the last voting records just set in 2020. So low turnout cannot help trump this time. His platform includes a blueprint project 2025, that would curtail rights and increase costs for the working middle poor class. Not a well thought out positioning if he was thinking about attracting any other voters other than his own dwindling base. Harris for her part is actually offering the working middle poor class many incentives to help them cope with the demands of their lives.
Harris is courting previous independent and republican voters to her side through demonstrating that democracy is being undermined by trump. What trump is doing instead is alienating voters that he needs to have a chance to pull off another close victory. He is up against high voter turnout and he is losing opportunities for support. His chances of victory are getting fewer by the day. Yet we all remember 2016 and if that isn't still fresh in our minds then the threats to our democracy from trump should be. Too much is at stake here so there can be no letting up until after the last vote has been cast. Even then vigilance is required because if trump gets a hint that he is losing the vote on election day, he will cry foul and say the election was stolen from him.
