(#6260) Looks like voter suppression once again from the republican party!

A law passed in Mississippi to count ballots after election day postmarked on or before election day may be overturned. Splitting hairs on wording that is at best ambiguous the majority republican not so supreme court is about to disenfranchise possibly millions of voters nationwide. It is an all too familiar scenario with republicans. Creating situations where citizen votes are not counted because they deem the process somewhat complex. If a ballot is cast by the end of election day with a postmark from the postal service then it must be counted to preserve our right to vote. Yet republicans disagree!
To republicans the perceived burden of counting lawful votes is too much if it interferes with their clock management process. So if a republican is slightly burdened with a time frame to capture all legal votes and count them, it is considered too much and unconstitutional. The denial of a vote is disenfranchisement and the not so supreme court is only their to protect our rights under our constitution. Not curtail our rights because republicans are made uncomfortable by votes that physically could not be counted by the end of election day. The fiasco of this case should never have come to this but in this day and age of republican grievance politics, here we are.
The writing isn't on the wall just yet on this verdict and two republican justices could find their way to siding with the three liberal justices and retain the Mississippi law. Roberts and Barrett hold the keys to this ridiculous claim by republicans and hopefully their duty to democracy will see through the disenfranchisement that voting to end the Mississippi law will bring. I feel like I live in an alternative universe with what is going on instead of working to make our society freer and more inclusive we spend our time denying access and rights. The republican party is a sham and all their constituents are comprehensively ill advised. Shame on republicans if this Mississippi law is overturned!
