Strange coming from me having a positive experience about Texas but our two democratic candidates last evening put on quite a show. By show I mean I watched the Kornacki Cam online. Which to me was far superior to any other broadcast about the voting last evening. About 4 uninterrupted hours of Kornacki explaining as much as he could concerning important races not only in Texas but North Carolina as well. I was fortunate to stumble across his broadcast before he started as I was looking for anything other than cable news broadcasts. I would rather watch paint dry than talking heads give their take on important matters to me. Much too often they let statements be made without context nor contrasting them with democratic values. I do like Kornacki and others who stick with statistics and have their eye on percentages and possibilities.
So even with republican vote counts being included in the Kornacki 4 hour long live stream, Kornacki kept it civil and non partisan. But you could see he was hyped up about the democratic senate race given its enormous turnout. I was as well. Because I was excited to see who would triumph in the imagination of a majority of democratic voters in Texas. Either Crocket or Talarico would prevail but most all of us knew it would be close. Not only close but we would see the broad turnout proved to be vital in the end for Talarico as he secured the close victory. The Hispanic vote came out in droves for Talarico and that proved to be the deciding factor.
Two great inspiring democratic candidates were pitted against each other and in my mind neither failed to deliver. The people of Texas decided their fate. Both candidates are quality folks who are united in their objective to bring a democrat to power in the US Senate. Will that happen we don't know but the motivation is blossoming for democrats and is showing us it may well be possible. Of note was my return to following in real time the votes coming in on the Kornacki Can stream. I really enjoyed that and that is a return for me since the 2024 gut punch. I have reported on my Facebook page special election results since then but following along a nonstop suspenseful live streaming event was captivating.
