The second workday of the week had never really held any significance for me in the past. Only on election day every other year did it get any attention from me. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesday's-also known as hump day, were my markers for time of interest. But I have moved on from the drudgery of counting days of work until the two days off of no work to a different schedule. Now my only deep focus is on the next election in America leading up to the midterm elections. Our nation votes on Tuesdays generally and with so many special elections to go it is quite a dandy of a time for me. Because our blue wave voters are relentless, no matter the jurisdiction, blue or red, in casting their votes.
So far we democrats have flipped from red to blue 28 seats countrywide where republicans have not flipped any blue seats. Even more of interest is the voting margin in all these races. Democrats have increased their margins by about 13 percentage points. This is huge considering that many of these special elections have taken place in deep red states. So not only are we democrats energized to vote this year the republicans are not. While independents broke for trump in 2024 the same cannot be said in 2026 as independents are voting for democrats by at least around a conservative estimate of a 65 to 35 split. The fact of the displeasure of voters on the left, in the middle, and even on the right, is being displayed through votes everywhere.
So when we have a special election like tomorrow in Illinois and Pennsylvania, of course who wins is important to me but just as important will be the margin. Will our blue wave continue to fuel the rising percentage gap between the surging democrats and the floundering republicans? My assumption is irrelevant but hopeful. Which is why I will be watching the Kornacki Cam live stream video online so as to get the vote count in real time without having to listen to the talking heads who tend to offer opinions that do not interest me. Like the Joe Friday character played by Jack Webb from the show Dragnet liked to say, just the facts ma'am. I will form my own opinions based upon the vote count as it is coming in tomorrow on my new favorite day, Tuesday!
This blog will be an advocate for compassion, curiosity and human survival. When these elements of human nature are being denied, wholly, severally or individually, less than positive human traits are the outcome. It is my wish and hope that my reasonings on a variety of subjects will provide the readers of this blog with personal and public insights. My only motive is to provide a forum for advancing enlightenment. Carl Clark.
