The chicken littles in the republican party have not yet been able to halt trump from getting his demands from them. I don't expect that to change. The voter suppression bill will become law and then the supremee court will render a verdict as to its constitutionality. Again the court will be effected by trump pressure and most likely will accede to the constitutionality of the law even though we all know it is an obvious poll tax! So if/when this eventuality arrives the rest of us are going to need to be prepared. Which means getting our records in order and submitting them for our necessary to vote reregistrations.
We democrats have got to think long term here. No matter what republicans throw at us we need to be one step ahead of them. We can do this no matter how disgusted we are at what republicans are doing to keep voters from voting. The poor republican voters will be caught out as well and they won't be as motivated to get their documents in order as we democrats. Becuase trump has assured them that with this bill passing into law republicans will win the next 50 years of voting contests. So their motivations won't be as keen as democrats. With we democrats there is an opportunity here to comply with the voter restriction bill and outperform republicans despite the obstruction.
We just have to hope for the best with the voter suppression bill being thwarted but expecting the worst that it will become law. So we democrats must help each other get our documents in order so as to keep our blue wave election momentum. Even independents are in the same boat and need to be as vigilant as we deemocrats in getting their paperwork from wherever they need to, to prove their citizenship. The mad scramble has already begun but we need everyone to ge this done and not rely on republcian senators to keep the filibuster alive or the supreme court to adjudicate fairly. We must rely on ourselves and get our last line of defending our vote in place so no matter what happens with the voter suppression bill it won't stop us from voting!
