(#6247) trump is surrounded by apologists and yes people, not critical thinkers

As this first year of trump back in office has been absorbed one clear distinction from his first term to his second is that at least in his first term he had some around him that were clever and thoughtful. Not this term. His first term he was going through the growing pains of figuring out his place in government. Not so any more. he knows what he wants now and is helping himself achieve it by surrounding himself with toadies of an unremarkable caliber, In fact they are as oblivious to intellectual prowess as a Neanderthal would be had he been transported to today.
That doe in the headlights look so many of them display is real. They are in above their heads and are only surviving because trump is feeding them the oxygen he needs them to have. They are content with this because they know they are never going to feel this lofty again. So the loyalty is strong to trump. He gives them what they know they don't deserve even though he treats them as welcome scum! The strategy here is for trump to scavenge all he can out of government, skirting the law with his innumerable chaotic acts and behaviors. He is overflowing our mindsets so that his lesser, under the radar, acts can move forward during the disarray.
When all is said and done however, he was caught out with his destroy democracy voter suppression bill. he snuck it through the house where his bootlickers are keen to keep their tongues glued to trump. But the senate has hesitated. So trump in his usual behavior threatened republican senators who are not willing to kill the filibuster so his bill can pass. But that isn't working either. So now the house bootlickers will try to pass the voter kill bill under reconciliation. But budget issues are not related to voter suppression bills so what will trump do to get the parliamentarian to ignore that and obey his demand? One can only guess but we know it won't be logical, nor enlightened reasoning.
