As time goes by. What was scary at the beginning of this trump attack on our democracy was the zealotry we saw from those who protected trump from any scrutiny that would cause the truth of his appointment to our presidency to come out. From top congressional leaders to his private circle of confidants the circle seemed impenetrable. Yet the determination of a man like Bob Mueller and his relentless pressure on the trump cronies we are seeing the breaking of the will to deceive by trumps inner circle. His confidants are now squealing like scared little rabbits giving up information that is tying together the nefarious narrative that trump and his conspirators put into motion.
As each new flipped witness gives Mueller more information added to his already trove of information the plot is being exposed. Through legal pressure and the fear of punishment, the scheme to defraud our democracy is being dismantled. I wasn't sure it could be done even though I lived through the duplicity of nixon and his republican acolytes. But now I am more confident that even though there is still resistance by trumps allies to withhold the truth it will come out. It is appropriate that such an attack on our democracy is about to crumble because our democracy has endured for the last 242 years and I for one would fight to the death to keep it from ending.
So as the circle of trumps continues to shrink those still in the circle have now more pressure on them not to be caught out with the criminal trump at the end. If there is one behavior of conspirators we know quite well it is their willingness to throw out their loyalty in order to save what is left of their own skin. Such is the current situation that is unraveling the trump inner circle and causing his accomplices to slip away from his grip. The trumps are going to be exposed and their downfall is now inevitable. The only question that is left now is how soon and through whom will the final nail in trumps coffin be hammered.
