Day 21 of the trump/mcconnell shutdown (#3633)

Just so you know, I don't capitalize people's names when I don't respect them. Day 21 of the trump/mcconnell shutdown is hitting federal workers who are affected by it hard today. Because they would be getting paid today but they aren't. In the meantime trump is telling folks to do odd jobs and sell things to get by if they need money to survive. So uncaring this appointed president is. He thinks people can get by and keep working without being paid. I guess he does have lots of experience with that as he has shamefully withheld payments to his building subcontractors for less than honorable reasons on numerous occasions in his past life as a figurehead of a building company/corporation.
The TSA workers who are now leaving their posts in any way they can without being fired are just the tip of the iceberg here. We know that all of the 800,000 workers in federal government positions have been furloughed without pay. Those of the 800,000 who keep working, more than 420,000 workers, because their positions are critical to national security are also not being paid and somehow must find money to pay bills that are now due. So our FBI agents who are affected by this shutdown and our Coast Guard members who are also affected by this shutdown are in a really tight squeeze. We all need an income to pay our way in an increasingly dominated capitalistic society. So working for free while not having the funds to support their lives cannot go on and we are now seeing result of that.
Behind the scenes there are nine federal agencies who are not getting pay for their efforts, Departments of Justice, Treasury, Homeland Security, Agriculture, State, Interior, Transportation, Commerce, and Housing and Urban Development, https://www.theadvertiser.com/story/news/local/2019/01/11/federal-government-shutdown-day-21-what-you-need-know/2538265002/. The bigger picture of what trump/mcconnell are doing is putting our nation at risk so that they can build a wall that the majority of Americans and a majority of security experts agree that we don't need and shouldn't build. It is a vanity project for trump and he is hurting working Americans in order to brutally extract his demand. What kind of appointed president does this? One that doesn't have the intent to help anyone but himself and his colluding associates.
