This week will see trump fold (#3629)

The fiasco created by trump will end this week with a whimper from the madman carnival barker. What will also end is the majority of the Senate and Presidency of republicans in 2020. They gambled that they could outlast democrats on blackmailing the American people with our own government and it will fail miserably, because we don't respond well to threats anymore! It used to work when we were not as protective of our principles but those days are long gone now. Instead we are as angry as we have ever been as democrats and the coward bully republicans have been found out.
I know I am making this prediction without much to back me up except this. The entire republican party is beginning to wilt at the prospect of a shutdown for an unneeded wall. The cost benefit has been evaluated and republicans are not liking the conclusion. The longer this shutdown goes on and more people are hurt by it the harsher the punishment will be for those republicans running in 2020. That trump doesn't care is irrelevant because these lesser office holder republicans actually do care about their political futures. So if trump doesn't cave and end the shutdown expect republicans in the senate and house to vote on opening the government and even if trump vetoes the bill the Congress will very likely override his veto.
So the smart thing to do is for trump to end the shutdown today and cut his losses. But we are talking about trump so doing the smart thing is far from logical. Yet the pressure on him is mounting and he has nowhere to go for sanctuary that will lessen it. Today and the next few days should show the resolve of Congress to get government opened and if we have to do it without trump so be it. Then the processes for investigating trump will hit full force with little sympathy for the madman who would cost many their livelihoods just so he could try to hurt democrats. The writing is on the wall and maybe someone will read it to trump so that he has a better idea about just how much he is in the wrong on this shutdown he created for a NOT needed wall.
