(#5881) No one is above the law as a campaign priority

I know this is a big if but if we are to have another election where we the people decide the outcome, the party in opposition right now needs to make clear the number one priority is justice. Going after and starting with all those who have broken the law while in a position of trust. No one is above the law is a position that has to be honored and held sacred. Our society demands it regardless of what the law breakers would say otherwise. No one, billionaire nor the penniless, is immune to the cost of lawbreaking. We have courts to decide the degree and severity of the sentencing but no one should be allowed to escape their due punishment.
Not only does the criminal who commits a crime get their justice but them actually paying their price is a deterrent to others who would attempt the same. We must as a society adhere to our laws with a vigor and a blind eye to every perpetrator. No one is above the law is absolute. I don't care who it is or their station in life. If you commit a crime then you are subject to the penalties. It cannot be any simpler! The party in power today thinks it can skirt the intent of our laws to fulfill their desires and do it with impunity. They are at the moment correct as we see every day. Yet if we the opposition were to campaign on making all, and I mean all, lawbreakers culpable for their deeds then I believe we will have a winning strategy.
So many of us feel powerless in this moment where the brutish and cruel are having their way with practically no oversight to their criminality. That has to stop so that the many more of us can again start to feel some pride and rebuild from our shaken souls. Another attribute of campaigning on no one being above the law is the fear it will start to manifest in the current administration for their acts now that may come as sentencings later. We must reverse the pain and suffering they are currently instilling into our lives and turn it back on them. Make them think twice about how they act in the name of our trust. We can defeat them if we get the chance so we best start preparing for that eventuality now!
