I went through a phase back when I was much younger where I thought everyone should be more alike than different. In my very limited knowledge back then I thought that if we would all just be the same we could do a lot more stuff where everyone was mostly in agreement. For example like we all see through the same set of eyeballs. But as I grew older and experienced the world in a more panoramic way I began to understand why we cannot all see the world through the same set of eyeballs. We are all unique in our own individual ways and that makes for sameness to be difficult if not impossible as a normal.
There are many ways we can be of the same mindset but those are in ideas and ideals. Our experiences and our enculturation separate us in how we are raised and how we see the world. What I came to understand decades ago is that embracing our natural differences was preferable to forcing us to be the same. A variety of perspectives about most all things gives our species the greatest opportunity to not only survive but to thrive. We are not all just from the same box of thoughts. We are from many other boxes with even many who think outside those boxes we were raised to know. The great feature of our species is our ability to adapt to solutions for most all our problems.
We learn how to successfully overcome problems by considering many possible solutions and then creating the best one through our varied options. Nothing in life is in a playbook for learning when problems arrive. What we do have is each other and all that we can bring to bear on any given problem. We are not predictable as a species because we are not all the same. That is a value of great importance because we cannot be pigeonholed into a category that has only one possible solution. We are unpredictable and that is almost a superpower. Drawing from a wide range of imaginations is what will push our species well into the future where our amazing attributes will continue to flourish.
This blog will be an advocate for compassion, curiosity and human survival. When these elements of human nature are being denied, wholly, severally or individually, less than positive human traits are the outcome. It is my wish and hope that my reasonings on a variety of subjects will provide the readers of this blog with personal and public insights. My only motive is to provide a forum for advancing enlightenment. Carl Clark.
