This existence and how it is shaping itself is not just for those of us alive and those who will become alive in the future. This existence is also the effort of generations before us who brought us out of the dark ages of barbarism and raised up our democracy. They fought and died for what we are starting to let slip away and that knowledge is enough for me to fight even harder to protect the evolution of democracy's higher ideals. A more perfect union, not anything less! I can still hear my grandparents voices in my head telling me about how President Franklin Delano Roosevelt not only protected our democracy during World War I, but how he made life better for all Americans afterward.
I remember seeing my mother when I was 8 years old crying her eyes out while watching the news of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy's assassination. Even my older brother John who passed away last year in May being fierce about how special needs social programs were there to protect the most vulnerable among us. These words and deeds will never leave my memories not should they. It isn't just me who is making decisions about how life should be it is those who have gone on before me and their fight to make our world better. All this to say that I am not just fighting to give children a better world to live in, I am fighting the fight all good decent human beings had fought for ages to give to me and the future.
It is my honor and duty to stand in the now vacant shoes of my ancestors and represent them with all that they gave me. I am the result of their efforts just like all the rest of us are in the same way. We just need to know that fighting for the good in life is not just us alone, it is every single human being who has ever lived and fought for the better in life. We now represent them and as such should be bolstered to a position of strength not yet seen in history because of those who made us who we are. I know when my end time comes I will not be less than my ancestors and their efforts. I will add to the history of the human struggle to define itself as a force for the better/best good in this existence.
This blog will be an advocate for compassion, curiosity and human survival. When these elements of human nature are being denied, wholly, severally or individually, less than positive human traits are the outcome. It is my wish and hope that my reasonings on a variety of subjects will provide the readers of this blog with personal and public insights. My only motive is to provide a forum for advancing enlightenment. Carl Clark.
