We have somehow moved past the transition from brave Americans to indifferent Americans. We used to be all in for freedom and liberty with justice but now we are only into our personal selves in a most uncaring way. I may be premature in my assessment here but I cannot help but think that I am not. It could be that when we allowed private citizens to inject as much money as they wanted into our politics it made the simple task of informing the public of the truth almost impossible. So instead of being abreast of our facts and truths we are in a muddle of chaos with no clear understanding of reality. Either way, whether ignorant to bravery or confused about how to apply it, we are in trouble.
Since the beginning of our nation we had been able to progress into a future where the worst of what we were before our revolution for freedom slowly changed for the better. However, for the last 60 years we have been morphed as a government and society into factions that not only discard looking for possibilities to improve but have become hostile to the idea of the melting pot. United we stand and divided we fall has been forgotten as a prized slogan. Instead we have decided that others are not as important as ourselves when it comes to equality, liberty, and justice. We have turned from the courage of our foreparents to fight for these values for all to instead just wanting what we can easily get.
As I watch this dynamic unfold it bothers me that now several generations have left behind their obligation and duty to instill honor and principle into their children. The children have grown up and their lessons to their children are nearly devoid of behavior and character that exemplifies sacrifice and noble intentions. What they are teaching the next generation has very little to do with principles of democracy and more in line with prevailing traits of narcissism. The beauty of humility and sacrifice is the inner reward. Knowing that you could be a horrible person all about greed and depravity but instead choosing to be a person who is admired and well thought of because you would rather build a bridge of care instead of destroy one.
This blog will be an advocate for compassion, curiosity and human survival. When these elements of human nature are being denied, wholly, severally or individually, less than positive human traits are the outcome. It is my wish and hope that my reasonings on a variety of subjects will provide the readers of this blog with personal and public insights. My only motive is to provide a forum for advancing enlightenment. Carl Clark.
