I will not jinx this last full day of trump with any early celebrating. Instead I will remain on alert for his last gasps at letting go of our presidency. One more full day of keeping our fingers and toes crossed for good luck so that he doesn't blow us all up. Because he is the kind of guy who out of his petty jealousies would sacrifice all of us in order to satisfy some illness he holds dear in his diseased mind. For those who voted for this monstrous apparition cloaked in human skin you are a problem that has yet to be reckoned with. How your own sense of humanity could have been overridden by the rhetoric and hate of trump is a serious violation of human decency.
But let that be as it may for now. We have less than 25 hours left of the trump appointed presidency and that has to be my focus. He is reported to be pardoning around or more than 100 criminals on his last day and hopefully that is the worst of his actions on this day. It is bad enough that he has found every nerve in our bodies to grate and if that grating is done in 35 hours then we will survive it. I know that Joe and Kamala have been working tirelessly to be ready to hit the ground running when tomorrow comes and them continuing to do that before the inauguration will be a high priority. The rest of us can keep our eyes on the heaping pile that has yet to leave our White House.
I know that sleep will be difficult to get over these next 25 hours. Which is fine once in a while especially since the next 25 hours are so critical to what our future holds. There are senate hearings today to get to confirming Joe and Kamala's cabinet picks and that is, although late, good. The republican party has not been as helpful as it could be for a political party that is begging for unity while still not all accepting Joe Biden as our next president. If I understand Joe though he will still try to work with them in an honest way but no doubt warily. There is no more taking a republican at his/her word anymore as they have shown they will break any oath even the greatest one to our country.
This blog will be an advocate for compassion, curiosity and human survival. When these elements of human nature are being denied, wholly, severally or individually, less than positive human traits are the outcome. It is my wish and hope that my reasonings on a variety of subjects will provide the readers of this blog with personal and public insights. My only motive is to provide a forum for advancing enlightenment. Carl Clark.
