The racist in chief (#3422)

That trump is now our chief racist and his republican base still supports him leads to the logical conclusion that his base accepts his racism as a positive form of hatred. Otherwise they would be taking him to task for his many examples of promoting racist republican candidates over non racist republican candidates. The idea that a major public politician is racist and is acceptable to his base speaks to how rotten the core of our political body has become. America, once the melting pot of the world is now becoming the shooting gallery with non whites in the crosshairs. That the white supremacists have overtaken the republican party and is now home to them is astonishing. However to me it isn't since republicans are the ones who rarely sacrifice for country and are therefore easily swayed by stronger scarier associates.
So here we are again bringing up the midterm elections and the changes we can make. All ballots are secret except those of angry white men who vote at home and control the votes of their wives and children. But for the vast majority of the rest of us we can vote in secret and any way we want regardless of the pressure put on us by strong arm tactics. We can always say we voted for republicans where applicable while actually voting for democrats and no one would be the wiser. Whatever it takes to break the cycle of hatred and force that has us bound up in the worst of nefarious natures, racism. I for one am still proud of our nation and it's ability to fashion a solution when we get ourselves into trouble. Not many are with me on this given our recent past history but I still hold out hope that scourges like racism will find its betterment with our electorate.
Nothing about the world today and our place in it is normal. We have a trump person who has all the wrong ideas about what it is to be an American. His only concern is his keeping power and gaining wealth for himself and his. A carpetbagger if there ever was one has been appointed our president and for that the shame of it will linger beyond this generation. But the opportunity to reverse this shame is on the horizon. Come November 6th 2018 a new day will dawn and it will be one where we begin to put the brakes on the corruption and scandal of the republican party and all of it's hatred toward those who are not them.
