The dishonesty of the few make the hardships of the many (#3460)

The republican credo is obvious. Take for me and the hell with everyone else! It has served them well in creating the largest income inequality gap in history, https://money.cnn.com/2017/09/27/news/economy/inequality-record-top-1-percent-wealth/index.html. While the top 1% hold 38.6% of today's wealth the poorest among us have not seen their wages increased. So the cycle of the top 1% gaining more wealth while the bottom 99% loses more wealth continues. It is the greed of the American soul that supports the policies of republicans that has brought this about.
It must be a comfort to them to ignore reality and the hardships their greed brings despite the evidence of it all around them. The term cognitive dissonance was coined to exemplify this phenomenon. When these republican politicians and voters tell themselves that they are special because they know how to acquire wealth and the ones who don't are not worthy of any consideration, they successfully remove any guilt due to their actions. They have found a place in their minds where justification of the acquiring of wealth outweighs all other considerations. They conveniently acuate their thinking without being objective about all the factors. In other words, if I tell myself that I am right it doesn't matter what reality says.
Remember, the republican party is a minority party yet they hold all the power of our government. How does this happen? They use desperate measures outside the realm of decency and respect. They take what is greedy and hateful and create an illusion into a desire. We the electorate are responsible for not making republicans pay for their trickery and instead we are fooled enough by it. When a nation has lost its ability to defend it's compassion then this type of thievery is enabled. We not only will not defend our compassion but we are now condemning it to weakness and foolishness in the name of some type of superiority I have yet to witness. We are all human beings and the difference between the ones who want it all and the ones who have little left is the republican idea that only a few are worthy while the rest are inconsequential.
