3 months down 7 to go (#3347)

7 months until the next midterm election. As trump and republicans keep being the despicable things that they are the continuing bluewave will maintain its momentum. Normally I am concerned that we democrats would peak too soon before the next election but in the strange circumstances of this current republican rule the normal does not apply. As we have seen with the special elections to date, the anger against republicans and the enthusiasm for democrats is not waning. In fact it seems that the momentum of our blue wave election continues to grow. The republican party thinks they have done enough digging to find treasure to help them win the midterms but what in reality they have done is dig their own graves.
The republican party lied to its base back in November 2016 and the lies have not been swept under the rug. Moreso the lies that they told are coming full circle on them and will be hung around their necks in 7 months. The only significant thing that republicans pushed through into law was their massive tax break for the wealthy. Well surely there are many wealthy that benefited from the tax break but the working middle poor class that helped elect trump and republicans in Congress got virtually nothing from the tax break. Instead what they got were other policies aimed at destroying their livelihoods and reducing their incomes.
So it is with great anticipation that I see the blue wave continuing to grow as more and more people realize they have been hoodwinked by the republican party. This could have been a blockbuster voting year for republicans given their majorities and their wealthy donors willing to spend on them but the illusion that republicans have been wearing as masks have finally been exposed. So instead of a republican party building on it's majorities they are about to not only lose them but lose them in a crushing way. The idea that if we survive trump and get our democracy back in at least November 2020 with a democratic president the presidency handed to trump will, as a silver lining, have solidified the democratic resistance to him and his colluding cowardly republican party. 7 months to go until the reclamation of intellectualism and compassion return to leadership of the American experiment.

The sniveling bully in Wisconsin flinched (#3346)

Yesterday scott walker succumbed to the will of the courts and called the special election he should have called before taken to court. He tried to bully his constituents by not allowing them representation for nearly a year because he feared the blue wave would take the 2 open offices now. Well with his stall tactics and strong arm posturing he now has put his party in a further hole. The energy that will go into these 2 races come June will be tremendous instead of just floating under the radar. He has metaphorically poked the bear and now is running away. It would be fitting that when these 2 elections take place a dramatic shift to democrats by a large margin would be just.
Any time an elected public official tries to subvert the constitution for his own gain, much like trump whom walker is closely allied, a retribution is required. All of our constitutions, federal and state are greater than any public official regardless of his own vanity. So now that republicans have been shown to subvert the law they need to be properly punished. Which would take a booting out of office. Make all republicans who had a hand in the denying legislative representation to citizens be included in the forthcoming wrath. The greatest right we have in our representative democracy is our representation. There cannot be any lesser reality that is acceptable.
It warms my heart that the judicial branch in Wisconsin stood by the rule of law and not the bullying of a republican governor and republican majorities in the state legislature. It also gives me hope that the good people of Wisconsin will show their wisdom when the voting time comes. Trick me once shame on you, trick me twice shame on me. Well Wisconsin, republicans tried to trick you but the courts wouldn't let them. Punish them by voting them out. Or keep them in and the next time they trick you it won't be on them it will be on you because you should have known better. It just makes sense that anyone who would defy the constitutional right of equal representation to all citizens should never again be given the trust of the American people.

I live for tomorrow even though I may die today (#3345)

Nothing much changes for me as an outlook on life. For any number of reasons I know that today could be the last day of my life but I still think like a man whose life is all out in front of him. I suppose this type of thinking is what gives me such clarity and purpose. Nothing is a given especially if you are like me and speak your mind when the rot of our society pokes its head up. Yet no one doubts my authenticity nor my resolve. I am not ambiguous nor illusory. I know what goodness is and I know what badness is so you will never be confused by my intent.
It is my hope to keep building a better life immediately around me and then by extension further out into society as a whole, while also knowing that the whirligig of a fragile life will have its way regardless of my best efforts. As an older man now I can understand my own mortality in ways that I couldn't as a younger man. I know that we are all vulnerable in our health to whatever cause and effect we have the fortune or misfortune to have been exposed to both environmentally and physically. The roaring hubris of our early lives when we were mostly invincible in our reasoning and actions has a way of coming back to us later in life with the brokenness of a whimper. Yet we do persevere regardless knowing that at any moment the light may go out forever.
But until then the rational mind of us who cannot let the fight go is to keep up the good battle and make what we can out of what we have left. Improving on all walks of life that touch our reality is what is so purposeful today for me and I know for many like minded souls. If there is one consciousness that most all share it is our determined will to survive in life. We are not quitters nor will we fade away. I write this blog everyday as a reminder to myself that I am alive and I can still require of myself critical thought based upon comprehensive enlightenment. The universe has my record of care and although the universe may chuckle at my small attempts to contribute I, in my own mind, am at least persuaded that I am not less than insignificant.

People without wisdom act like they have none (#3344)

We are all humans and we are all in the same general existence. Yet some of us handle that reality differently than others. We see with republicans it is all about making profit wherever and whenever they can. Not necessarily legal either with trump being the easiest example to point out. But it is all around us with family and neighbors who act as if they only have what is best for themselves as a rule. These are the ones where I say they are lacking wisdom. First off let me be absolutely clear here, wealth is not wisdom. Wisdom is a combination of intelligence and compassion.  We all have the same types of trust and faith in ample amounts but those of us who put our trust and faith in our ability to see the best of humanity are much more likely to be the wise among us.
Those who can only see that the world is here for each to take from are the ones who are unable to evolve to a higher level of consideration. They may appear wise in how they go about attaining wealth when they only show what is best about how they do it but the darker side of it is always there regardless of how they try to hide it. The disingenuousness of their examples are what makes life in our society much more difficult for those who are unaware of the difference. I like to think that as my age increases and my compassion and knowledge advance I am able to clearly see how my life and the actions I take will help mold society into a better shape. I am not here for just me I am here for my legacy as well.
My legacy is to leave the world in a better place than when I started. I don't want to bask in glory or filthy lucre like the unwise. I don't want to steal from some so that my life can be rosy. I don't want more than I need nor the best the world has to offer. I am a simple man who appreciates that the many of us are without basic necessities so why would I want to be a hoarder of riches? If one was to say that I had a religion it would be that I am a humble man who is working to be even more humble. I am wise enough to see that life makes us do things we don't want to do. If there was one rule I would follow it is to treat others as I wish to be treated. If I am a menace to goodness then I need to be treated proportionally to that as well. Because having some wisdom gives me a conscience that in the end will rule over me with a just peacefulness.

The end of trump is getting closer and closer (#3343)

The nightmare will soon be over and a new day will dawn where we all can breathe a little bit easier. The days of trump and his hellacious agenda is about to run out. Sure we still have many months left short of Mueller coming about sooner than later but for the most part we have weathered the trump shit storm. How trump could be so devastating to many 10's of millions of his co citizens is one dishonorable era for the infamy book. He had a chance to start his less than legitimate presidency with an opportunity to fight the good fight for all Americans but instead he choose to fight for bigamy, misogyny, prejudice and hatred aimed at the working middle poor class.
His love for himself and his deviant desires along with his unholy alliances with foreign and domestic profiteers is his calling card. He believes he is above the law and the rest of us are his property. While he continues to boast of his imaginary accomplishments and blames everyone else for his real faults, the clock has been ticking down on him and his lackeys who have the majority power in Congress for now. Not only is trump unwittingly devising his own downfall but he is dragging his weak complicit republican party down with him. In what should have been an easy walk to keep the majority in the House and increase their seats in the Senate has now become like the metaphor snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
The republican party should have had a great advantage for winning extra seats going into this years Senate races but now that the blue wave has built itself into a majestic tsunami, republicans are in real danger of losing seats in the Senate this term. Not only that but the healthy majority that republicans have had for several election cycles in the House is about to end not only with losing their majority but of losing by a large margin. All told we are on the downside of what could have been much worse for the American people. Our democratic party resurgence will keep the republican wolves at bay for what is left of this years republican agenda and then come November we the American people will begin to bury the trumps and their surrogates with a force that will overpower what is left of the trump destructive fumblings.

Protests do matter! (#3342)

The cynics are already out saying that the protests this weekend were a waste of time and accomplished nothing. I can understand their logic since the protests do not change existing law or forward any legislation. However, what the cynics don't or won't understand is that the protests are an emotional and logical shift from the status quo toward demanding change with an accountability expected. That protests are meaningless is ludicrous. For one it allows for the many of us to display our desires for change and for another it shows our resolve in action. Let that be a warning to our elected officials and ignore us at their peril. We won't wait for them to tell us that nothing will change because what they will find out is that they will be exchanged for politicians who will listen and act on our behalf.
We didn't elect persons to be parental to us we elected them to do as we the majority desire. As long as our wishes are constitutional we expect our politicians to follow through. What the republican party is going to find out in about 6 months is that their paternal idea of society is not the vision the rest of us have. We will elect new politicians who will be accountable to us and then change will occur. But in the meantime we will continue to protest and make damn sure that the republicans who are now in power feel the wrath of we the voters in very short order. Either represent us or get out of the way because the force of our will is not going to be stopped. Ever!
No republican talking head for some powerful entity will ever be able to counteract the effectiveness of our protests. They can ignore us and condescend to our message but when the next voting time comes their ploy to dismiss us as irrelevant like spoiled children will come back and crush them along with their lackey republican candidates for public office. A new day is dawning and it will be here in 225 days so as republicans continue to go about their business of harming the working middle poor class and ignoring our pleas for rational considerations the anger and relentless motivation they are instilling in us will only grow more powerful so that when the time comes our democratic blue wave will be a Tsunami!

The silence of trump is not the same as the silence from Emma Gonzalez (#3341)

As trump is hiding out in his "castle" the rest of us are speaking about stopping gun violence through gun regulation measures. Except of course for the 6 minutes and 20 seconds of silence from school shooting survivor Emma Gonzalez that was as an emotionally charged amount of silence to actually be deafening, http://nbc4i.com/2018/03/24/survivor-emma-gonzalez-marks-6-minutes-of-strength-and-silence-at-rally/. But not from trump. He hid away from school shooting survivors and remains silent despite his claim that he would have run toward the gunfire. This much we know from trump, his words are as hollow and cowardly as his silence.
The days of trump are numbered now if anyone wasn't aware. Like his inaction on the day of the Women's March, his silence now reveals to any and all that he is incapable of leading the will of the American people. His only agenda is to parlay this presidency into a wealth bank for himself and his accomplices. The same with the republicans in Congress who continue to enable him without holding his feet to the fire. This chapter in American history will be the end of trump and his democracy crushing agenda and that it took the death of children to do so further drives the last nail into his well deserved coffin.
Our young people who can vote now are engaged in a way that leaves no doubt that their votes will not go for the republican party. Our young people have also reinvigorated our older populations with a sense of duty to our democracy that again disfavors the republican party. I have been a broken record on the subject of the coming blue wave election in November and what yesterday showed us is that that blue wave is going to be an onslaught aimed specifically at crushing the republican party. The republican party and trump have ignored our pleas for sensible help for the many of us and in return we will have no mercy on them in the voting booth!

Today's young people's march (#3340)

All across America young people will be marching in the streets today to protest the priority of guns over their personal safety. Too many young people are dying because the republican party and the gun lobby refuse to address common sense gun reform. So our young people are given only the option of protesting to try to change the narrative about their mortal safety over unlimited rights to "pack a piece". The cruel and brutish stance by republicans to brush aside concerns that young and old people have about the proliferation of guns is astonishing. Why republicans pretzel their logic to put weapons of destruction ahead of the very lives of our children is monstrous! It can only be understood in the form of value, or disvalue as it appears to be, which republicans receive in campaign contributions from the NRA and gun lobby.
So the children of those who are not fortunate enough to be protected by wealth are at the mercy of a society that republicans are pushing to be survival of the fittest. Where we are not civilized enough to restrict danger, but instead pronote it as a nature. What a warped mindset like this will bring about is less security and more barbarity. The depth of the depravity of the republican party is now visible for all to see and that is why we are seeing the backlash against republican politicians in the many special elections since trump was installed by the archaic paternalistic electoral college. It is why we have seen the tremendous outpouring of support for the earlier women's marches and now maybe the largest march yet, the young people's march against gun violence.
To change the narrative away from the republican agenda of survival of the fittest we must win the hearts and minds of voters who will transform their allegiances from the working middle poor class, dark and punishing agenda, promoted as necessary by the republican party and replace it with the hope of a democracy that has all of its citizens as its most precious gift. The equality that democracy endears toward all of us must be founded by those of us who will not let atrocities occur because we do nothing. Germany showed us how not to do that from the last great war. So now as we protest with our children let's remember that our democracy is greater than the trumps and the republican party and their attempts to replace it will be met with the youthful vigor our children will exemplify today.

Learning civics is mandatory to a democracy (#3339)

Civics, maybe the most important class one can take in High School. Simply because it is the foundation for learning why and how our democracy works. Not only is the US Constitution discussed and debated but the needs of society weighed against it. However one comes out on the political spectrum the basis for all of our beginnings must begin with the core of our democracy. One can travel many roads to get to the same point but one must be on a road that has the possibility to get there. We begin by learning that liberty, equality, fairness and justice have to be paramount above all other rights we hold dear. It then becomes our duty to carry out the administration and the protection of those rights.
When we vote for our candidates we must keep in mind that our constitution is the framework for all of our policies. Only the policies that pass the muster of liberty, equality, fairness and justice can have a benefit for all of our citizens and those who are becoming citizens. We learn in our civics classes that the majority is to be respected when the voting time comes. Yet we do have such arcane laws like the electoral college that take from our democracy and give to a minority in the name of paternalism. This logic may have been necessary 200 years ago but today there is no sense to it. As we learned form the 2016 election the majority of voters were denied their victory at the polls and a minority vote getter was given the presidency. This illustrates the need for a greater priority to be given to teaching civics as most important so that our electorate can change the archaic law of the electoral college that keeps us from the real power of our vote.
There are other important issues we need to understand as to the distribution of power and the protections that are ingrained in our constitution as separations. One branch of government cannot overpower another branch of our government as a rule yet today we are seeing the tactics of bullying and a collusive attitude to do just that. The ongoing evolving purification of our constitution needs to be continued by diminishing divisive outside influences and nefarious internal ulterior motives. The ideal of one person one vote must be restored in order to advance our democracy past this convoluted attempt by conniving politicians who think that they are the power behind our nation and not our people.

Democrats and the voting booth (#3338)

All that is on my mind is the chance to vote again to end the republican destruction of our nation. Since republicans control the check on trump and are not using it the only way we can stop trump is to get the control of our government back from republicans. They control the Senate and the House so the Senate and the House is where we can take control back from republicans this coming November 6th. I cannot spend an honest minute thinking about anything else without it coming back to politics. But I have always known this about life. You cannot just live your life by thinking that politics is moot. Because all of our freedoms and rights come from politics and if we don't defend our freedoms and our rights then people like trump will come along and take them from us.
Our democracy demands a duty from us to protect it and we do that by engaging in the politics at our local, county, regional, state and national levels. We owe it to our foreparents to engage in ways that lift up our society to a better station than when we received it much like our past generations have. What is happening now is a reversal of that great momentum forward and it is chilling and brutish to the core of us. We allowed this to happen by ignoring our duty to guide our democracy with a vigilant awareness of wise involvement. We let others tell us what is what instead of we learning what is what through our own discovery. We looked upon our duty to our democracy as a burden instead of a sacred trust.
We allowed the trumps to be in power by ignoring our duty but we can reverse that and we are doing so now through the properly alarmed voting in special elections. Our new found respect for our duty to vote for candidates that improve the American dream of equality, fairness, justice and opportunity is growing and that is what we are calling the blue wave. This blue wave is the counter to our previous inattentiveness. Now we are at the crux of it with the realization that by allowing trump we have given ourselves a poison and the only cure to it is to negate the power that trump has while in office. We are doing that and in the voting booths throughout our nation it is coming to be.

The blue wave continues... (#3337)

In Illinois last night for a primary election over 1.9 million folks showed up to vote, https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/03/20/us/elections/results-illinois-primary-elections.html?emc=edit_er_20180320&nl=&nlid=75125393&te=1. Over 1.2 million of those were democrats. In 2014, only 1.4 million folks showed up to vote in that primary so the increase has come from a surge in democratic voter participation, http://redlineproject.org/election2014voterturnout.php. This is not a Tsunami type wave from last night as many young folks remain skeptical of the two opposing wealthy candidates that won their primary elections for governor, but it still shows that even with the high dollar campaigns disturbing many, the voter turnout increased dramatically from the last Illinois gubernatorial race in 2014.
So despite the myriad ways to nuance all that is wrong in today's politics the fact remains that the democratic party is showing up to vote in increasing numbers. It is also clear that the republican party is in danger of losing much more of its current power if this trend toward democratic candidates continues. As again last night is showing, the trend has not stopped! It is only late March but this tidal wave that has been growing since the appointment of trump is not relenting. Much like the resolve of we who are not going to allow the trumps of the world to dictate to us that our democracy is of little consequence to them.
As each new opportunity for a vote to occur during the special election season we democrats are showing the world and ourselves that we may not be in perfect alignment with all our policies we are surely in perfect alignment with ousting republicans everywhere they hold office. This retribution against them is their cost for not representing the hopes and dreams of we the working middle poor class. They have chosen a side of our society that is wealthy and small. So although republicans have lots of money they have few voters who are helped with their representation. Money can buy a lot of advertising for republicans that tries to control the social and political narrative but we democrats see through the corruption of republicans and no amount of money will hide their shame and their undoing come election days.

The pettiness of greed (#3336)

This is what happens to most of the wealthy. They get wealthy and then a lust for more consumes them. I will say it again, there is only so much wealth for all of us to divide. If the wealthy keep taking the lion's share of it then there is little to none left for those of us whom most the wealthy care nothing for. It is why we have poverty and the largest gap in income inequality in history, https://www.thebalance.com/income-inequality-in-america-3306190. It isn't enough for the wealthy to live comfortably they need to live obscenely. Meanwhile famine, war and poverty continue to plague the world, due to a lack of income opportunity. It is beyond me that those many wealthy can make themselves immune to the plight of our fellow human travelers. It is also a stain on our claim to be human.
We cannot as a species pride ourselves in our intellectual and moral gravity when our actions contradict those very principles. The do as I do as opposed to the do as I say is at fault. One cannot claim to be moral and just when one does not hold oneself to those very ideals. A cognitive dissonance is chosen to alleviate the guilt these wealthy would normally feel for betraying not only their own moral and ethical codes but the devastation their greed has inflicted on everyone else. There is only so much resource and again if the wealthy are grabbing most all of it and then hoarding it the rest of us have little chance of earning some of that resource to fulfill our dreams.
Apparently the many wealthy don't care about the rest of us so we should do them the courtesy of doing the same to them. I know this much, when someone works to hurt or not help me I don't do them any solid either. I save doing a solid for those who actually are deserving of my care. So why do we keep helping the wealthy when they will only hurt us back? Stockholm Syndrome much? I do not respect wealth when it is used to harm. I actually despise wealth for doing that and all of us should as well. I don't care to be wealthy myself but I do care to be somewhat sufficient in life. But even that sufficiency is more a dream now instead of a reality because the wealthy and their republican puppets will not relent in keeping the wealthy as the only entity deserving of any general income growth.

No mercy for republicans! (#3335)

The republican party has shown what and who they are and it is the worst of what we Americans could be. They want to strip the working middle class of all opportunity to succeed with respect and dignity while giving all that the government has to offer to the wealthy. Their hatred for "others" and women is undeniable as well as their disregard for the safety of our children. All in all this republican party is the most despicable underhanded band of reality challenged humans ever witnessed by me and a majority of American citizens. So when the time comes for the voting as to who will stay in government and who will go there can be only one choice, the democrat running against any and all republicans.
Giving the democratic party the vote over any republican will take what is currently the worst party in the history of our nation out of power and install a much more intellectually driven democratic party that wants to save our planet, progressively tax our wealthy and treat every human being with the same dignity and respect we all would hope to be treated as ourselves. We democrats are not perfect we all know this but what we are is head and shoulder above republicans in decency and kindness with an air of servitude. We want the whole of the world to improve not just our American wealthy like republicans are attempting.
I am a kind and gentle soul who sees the best in all things when given the chance but republicans give no one the chance to see them in any good light as their policies show. So the mercy I would generally apply to all is now gone for republicans and instead is replaced by the bottom of my boot which I will forcefully apply to the neck of any republican who thinks they can continue to rob our American society of our pursuit of happiness and the work ethic opportunities to achieve it. Merit has always been the key to showing our resolve but that merit must have a chance to be expressed and not suppressed like under republican rule. Come any and all elections going forward no vote should be cast for any republican anywhere, regardless of how clever they mask their real intent to destroy our American melting pot, equality for all, way of life!

The pressure is building on the trumps (#3334)

For all his false bravado and incoherent arrogance trump is being forced into a corner. Mueller is quietly going about his business of gathering evidence in various ways that has the feel of capturing the essence of how trump came to be a political power and the workings as to the illegal processes used by him. There is generally little doubt now that that trump colluded and obstructed to get his position and there are many republicans who helped him do so. With Mueller quietly building his case against trump and his conspirators the greater the evidence he will have when the charging of criminal acts begins.
As each day moves forward and trump continues to fire and belittle his subordinates the more information will be available to Mueller from those who have no allegiance to trump anymore. That they withheld information to begin with due to loyalty to trump is criminal when such knowledge was hidden in order to protect themselves and trump. But our legal system is what it is and trading off information later for a reprieve now seems to be the new paradigm instead of being loyal to the rule of law. Be that as it may the little fish will get some relief for their collusion with trump but the big fish is being reeled in by the little fish with the guidance of Mueller. I have been so impressed with the duty and care Mueller is professionally exemplifying. As the days wind down toward the end of trump I am confident that the diligence Mueller is employing will be enough to convict the trumps of their nefarious behaviors.
I am anxious of course like everyone else who sees the damage to our nation that trump is triumphing but all things must take the time to be understood and then clearly diagrammed. Surely soon the trumps will try to end the Mueller investigation before it closes in on him but that time has gone. He has allowed himself to be hung by his own rope out of some strategy he allowed thinking the investigation would not prove him guilty, given his ability to hide and destroy evidence. Well trump is not a smart man nor are his acolytes when matched against the steady brilliance Mueller has in his investigation. That tick tock of the clock is the sound of the nearing demise of trumps and also the new beginning for America going forward.

The stench of trump is obvious (#3333)

What is that rotting smell, is no longer the term now. We know what and where that smell is coming from and it is all coming from trump. Even some of his republican lackeys are now starting to shy away from his stench. What the rest of republicans fail to accept is that he is all for himself and although he may pretend to like them he only likes himself and his debasing traits. Their greed and avarice has somewhat tempered their ability to recognize that the smell but even they cannot deny is coming from their hero trump. The few republicans who have awakened to the genesis of the stench are now backing away from trump and are finding that there is little forgiveness for them for their earlier blind allegiance to him.
But what happens to them is not my concern now, but what is is the residue of what the smell trump has created is doing to our nation. For all the world is watching the decaying trump work his foulness on all aspects of our government. The petty and vindictiveness of trump aimed at all who would stand up for the rule of law and the principles of democracy is abominable. The justice that needs to be meted out to trump is now well beyond anything a civilized person could fairly administer. The traitorous and immoral behavior he has expressed and acted out is beyond punishment from this mortal coil. Yet trump continues to fester and boil his brand of nasty brutish behavior while we protect his right to do it. Our democracy was never intended to be carte blanche for the vile miasma fecal matter that is trump.
What can be done about trump is beyond my general constitutional understanding but there is no doubt whatsoever that something must be done in order to stop his madness from destroying all that we Americans have built over the last 242 years since our declaration of independence. The blatant pernicious actions by trump and his continued support by republicans is what keeps the honest out of the day and the penalty from being administered to this disgustingly failed human being who has been installed as our leader. I can write this post because of the democracy that has been given us by generations of patriots over time but my ability to do so now is without a doubt in jeopardy as the tyrant trump can only see himself as king and ultimate ruler. Take from that what you will.

The legacy of trump? RACISM! (#3332)

I am constantly reminded that with the trumps there is only one message they hear and hear with gusto and that is disparaging people of color or creed. It never ends with them as that is where the sun rises and sets in their ignorant world. I don't like to be so crass but it is just so necessary to be very clear on this. It doesn't matter what message a person of color or different than white ethnicity has to say, it always comes back to who is delivering the message and not the logic or common sense of the message with these racists. Their racist hatred is so dominate in their lives that any and all civilized conversation is moot. Yet at times I do find myself inserted into their dialogue and then my anger begins to take over. I make sure they know that I know that they are racist and then I focus all my comments on proving it regardless of the message that they are permanently ignoring and I am temporarily putting aside.
Although I do get the message when it is delivered I find that their barrage of insults cannot go without response and as such I make sure to respond. I have zero tolerance for racism and when it is in my sphere I will combat it with a ferocity. Because when I was young I was taught that thugs and idiots were not allowed to disrespect others while I was present. I have been in my share of fights and arguments over inappropriate behavior and nothing to this date has changed that. I may not be the most sophisticated at holding back my temper or of elucidating my position clearly but despite that I go in with both barrels loaded for bear.
Because I know I am dealing with simpletons who can only use racism as their response to anything that doesn't conform to their brutish and nasty outlook on life. They want the world in their image and not in the image of all of us. I do often feel dirty though after getting into the shithole with them but their voices cannot go unchallenged when their narrative is one of hate. We all have a duty as Americans to defend and protect the ideal of our constitution and in the forming of a more perfect union we must stop attacks that undermine it. I cannot sit back in some safe harbor while the lunatics and raving haters take ground they should never even dream of having. So on it goes and until the trumps and their accomplices in the republican party are purged from our society I will continue to combat the racists with all the vigor of my anger!

The universe and our place within it (#3331)

This ought to make all humans humble, we are the masters within the universe if it allows us to survive it's nature. Yes, we are the wild card in the chaos. Yet the universe at this time of our human era is more sedate than volatile. So in this existence we humans have an opportunity to shape and define our own history but also that of which we can control inside our universe. We do not have to be waiting victims to the whirligig of fate as it were. As our knowledge continues to comprehensively grow we are much more able to adapt to the changes within our universe with some degree of success. Soon our expansion out into space will increase our odds of not only species survival but of greater access to information.
We humans are the difference between events just happening and events being mitigated before and after they do. Other species on Earth can adapt to tumultuous change and interruptions in their cycle of life but only we humans have the capacity to not only see change coming but to have greater options in adapting to the change. We are the most highly evolved species yet known and that in itself is mighty, amazing and terrifying all at once. But though it may terrify some it gives others a boldness to unleash our imaginations in ways that relish in the freedom of it. Most of us are secure in the idea that we are going to die at some point in our life development so being terrified of being magnificent is moot. Accepting our fate is the key and then living life like the gift it is comes quite naturally, regardless of any challenge.
Like all species that have ever existed the challenge is to adapt to whatever changes the universe creates. Our very survival requires us to not only come to terms with our evolvement but to guide it as a way to better maximize our species continuation. But life isn't just about preparing for the future survival of our species. It is also about enjoying the magnificence that the universe gives us. We are not here without our universe and honoring its existence by humbly experiencing it's mysteries is only natural. I have said this countless times, we are like biological data processors. With memory, physical abilities and the computing minds to reason, analyze and conclude all wrapped up into one astonishing form. The sooner we start acting like we are the sooner we will begin to actually be the masters within the universe that we all are.

trump and the one silver lining (#3330)

That trump is the appointed president is gut wrenching and embarrassing as hell. Yet there is one bit of good news in this reality. The trump is so lousy at his job and the republican party is showing that it is his doormat the reality of that is coming to a new awareness for the American electorate. The republican party is being exposed for the greedy frauds they have always been been because they control all levers of government so their agenda cannot be blamed on democrats. The republican party owns all of their nasty brutish policies and we Americans, not just we liberals who have been saying it all along, but the rest, moderate republicans and independents are now in the know that republicans are truly bottom of the barrel scum suckers stealing our working middle poor class opportunities to improve.
So as each new special election comes along since the advent of trumpism, a new found respect for the democratic party is emerging along with a new found distaste for all things republican. With the close but improbable winning margin last night in Pennsylvania we democrats are surging toward an overwhelming election this coming November. We owe that to the trumps and their arrogance at thinking that they could just shove their hands into our pockets and steal from us without us putting up a fight. Well they were wrong as all walks of society are marshalling to chase the republican party back down to an irrelevance befitting their despicable knuckle dragging actions.
That trump has melded or put another way, brought the melting pot out and instead of boiling us "others" we are instead turning the heat up on him and his acolytes. The truth of things, despite all the obfuscation from the republican wealthy donors, is getting through to the American electorate. We don't like what we see and are in concert to eliminate the cause of our wrath. So as each day ticks by up until November and beyond the trumps have given us the American people an unexpected gift, that of revolt and rebellion against the republican conmen and carpetbaggers who thought they could steal our dreams from us. Well that is the silver lining. They have poked the sleeping giant of democratic voters once too often and we are now awake and pissed off ready to do battle with the cowards in the republican party.

Since trump special elections have buoyed me (#3329)

The utter despair that I felt on November 8th, 2016 has been allayed recently by the upsurge of democratic victories in red districts since trump. The fact that red districts that trump won handily are now voting for democrats is inspiring. Although this is still just March, the enthusiasm for a tidal wave victory on November 6th, 2018 is still building. Today we have a special state election in Tennessee that would be an improbable democratic victory given the history of republican domination there, trump led the five full counties in this district with over 70% of the vote in 2016, but republicans are still sweating that race out and if the democrat should prevail it would portend major trouble for republicans like they could not imagine in the next general election.
However there is another race today for a congressional seat in Pennsylvania, again in a district that trump won by more than 20 points that seems to be trending toward the democrat instead of the republican. Already the trumps are making excuses about this race that they felt was as safe as they get just months ago and now are blaming the republican candidate as if the race is already lost before the voting begins. It is too early to be predictive about who will win this race but the confidence factor is definitely with the democrat. So although this should have been an easy win for republicans it now may be an albatross around their necks. Even should the democrat lose this race the fact that it is close is still convincing evidence that the tide has turned against republicans.
The weekly special elections from here on out right up until near general election day in November is just the remedy many of us still stunned democrats needed to get our mojo back. That the electoral college gave the presidency to trump under a cloud of confusion, and the democrat had nearly 3 million more votes, was a crushing blow to the idea of a legitimate election. Well we have moved on with the gut punch feeling still lingering but now with a hope that this particular nightmare of reality will soon be passing, given the results of the recent special elections to date. It was an anomaly that trump was installed as president but as it is now appearing, we may be on our way to not only neutering trump going forward but we are also cleaning out the rot that got him where he is now.

The republican party just keeps taking from the working middle poor class (#3328)

Soon there won't be anything of value left that we working middle poor class folks have left that the republicans and their wealthy cohorts will want from us except our labor. Which is just where they want us. They have effectively choked off the growing middle class to a dwindling lower middle class. Soon they will have what they want, a hunger games population that is thankful just for scraps of food. We are allowing this to happen to us simply by voting for republicans. What will it take for our citizenry to wake up from the nightmare that republicans are not only visiting on us but are cementing into our future?
I know that we democrats are building a blue wave election come November but the height of this wave will be thwarted by the despicable obfuscation republicans are currently propagandizing. They are relentless in their falsehoods and lies to the point of giving us all a headache trying to sift through to get to the truth. For me it is easy, the republican party has to go no matter what comes out of the mouths of their talking heads. I just shut out their attempt to message the narrative to their favor and stay relentless in my efforts to oust every one of them. They had their chances with me decades ago and refused to put the needs of the working middle poor class as a priority. There are no more words they can string together into sentences, coherent or otherwise, to make me ever believe that they have our backs.
Even when republicans do something noble it is always with a catch or near election time as a deflection from their totally otherwise negative agenda. If you haven't figured it out yet then take it from me, republicans are only in politics to enrich themselves and their wealthy donors, period! But even if you don't care what I say at least check it out for yourself and imagine a world where politicians actually worked for the voter and not big corporations. So many of us would have real representation with the democratic party. No more would we be worrying about our health care, nor our retirement, nor our children's education etc... Our nation needs to recognize the needs of all of our citizens, not just the needs of the wealthy. Don't you agree?

White women and white men, who vote, are killing our democracy! (#3327)

That trump got his votes, 52% of white women and 63% of white men, establishes my proof that we whites are the ones who are killing our democracy, http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-elections/who-voted-for-donald-trump-white-men-and-women-most-responsible-for-new-president-elect-voting-data-a7407996.html. For some reason we voted for the worst of human beings running for president and that he was white now seems to be the reason. Because all his faults and corruptions are being ignored and he maintains his white base. It is incredible to me that my fellow whites are as ignorant as the day is long. But it isn't just ignorance it is intentional hatred for those who are not white. The shame I feel at being white is as deep and as emotional as can be. I will never understand how a supposed advantaged race of beings like we whites like to think of ourselves could be so callous and uncaring for other human beings.
It is the lowest of pettiness and the filth of hatred that is now our legacy. The enlightened among us whites are not enough to overcome the depravity of the majority of whites that still to this day honor trump and his republican enablers. Yet we whites who are not depraved and less human than our actual abilities continue to persevere against our fellow whites who would lead us all to a life of illusion and despair. The rising of the non white voting block will have to be a major part in the reversing of the white pathway to intolerance. I am white but consider myself just a color of skin within the panoramic scale of color of skin. Just another person on this planet trying to live a democratic life that honors all who want just the same.
I can only hope that the fever of we white people who somehow think we are better than non white people will break and a new consensus of equality can emerge. But as of today we don't have that so the fight to win over the majority of every political body continues. I hate that I am part of the white race who enables trump. That trump and his minions are still in power grates at my soul and takes what could be better about my life and makes it worse. But that is my experience and that others have a much tougher road to hoe is a fact and gives me even more reason to destroy that which trump and white people have allowed him to do. This is a stain on our democracy what white people have done and there will be a reckoning coming to those whites who continue to kneel at the foot of trump!

My passion is politics (#3326)

I have a heart for romance but since that window is closing what I find left is my passion for how we are governed. Our democracy is a marvelous achievement and given all the other political institutions throughout the world I wouldn't hesitate one bit in choosing our system here in America. Now don't get me wrong there are plenty of areas in our system that need to be advanced so that corruption like the scale of trumps can never happen again, but in the foundation of democracy I find my greatest enrapture. The idea of improving on our system to require all to be equal is unequivocal. There are nasty brutish republicans who find this concept not to their liking but then again these nasty brutish republicans are not to our enlightened liking either.
Equality has within it's bounds the ideal that no discrimination or prejudice can be any factor in deciding who and what is proper. We have those who violate our laws and they should be punished through a system that metes out punishment proportionately regardless of who the offender is. Our democracy should as well dish out benefits in an equally proportional fashion. None of us it too worthy nor not worthy enough where the measuring of thought and behavior are considered the same. The time for advantage and privilege based upon factors outside equality should have no place in our egalitarian society. We humans are a precious gift to our planet and the universe beyond but only if we all are accepted as precious ourselves.
There can be no more class system that holds one group over another based upon race, creed, gender, age etc... or any other non behavioral ability. What we have within us is the difference between who is great and who is just good. We all have the ability to express our own will and determination on any subject and that is the merit we are measured by, not some expectation or deserve. This is why I can never stop advocating for our democracy. It is the template for us to add to as our society and our human nature evolves. We are not the first grubby humans who first came into being those many many millenniums ago. We are now comprehensively smarter, faster and more equipped physically than at any time in our recorded past. The politics of our future is being played out now and for me it is the most important and heart felt time in my life!

Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district (#3325)

The special election this coming Tuesday will affirm what we already know, that a blue wave is still rising. Now trump carried this district by 20 points in the 2016 general election and right now his preferred candidate is only leading by 3 points but within the margin of error so really it is a statistical tie. That in itself is enough to expect that the blue wave will still be rising regardless of the final outcome on Tuesday. Another factor here is that this district will no longer be as it currently is when the new congressional map is affirmed for the general midterm in November. So if the democrat falls short in his quest to wrest this safe republican seat from the republican, it will only be temporary and still be a victory for those of us who are seeing the tide rise on democratic fortunes while the depth of despair for republicans continues on it's crashing course.
The republicans have outspent the democrats in this race about 11 to 1 money wise yet this safe republican seat is on the verge of turning blue. The anger at republicans for all their despicable policies and hurtful agenda aimed at the working middle poor class is coming on full steam. With 5 days to go in a district that is decidedly republican there are enough independent votes left to be swayed to turn this race on it's head for a democratic upset. The bigger picture though is the one we should never lose sight of and that is the change in mindset by those who were moderate republicans that are now suddenly aware that the republican party does not represent them or the American ideal of democracy for all.
If the improbable happens and we democrats take this seat in Pennsylvania, a crushing blow will be inflicted on the psyche of every republican who is up for election in what they had considered safe districts and states. The last push to get our democrat elected in Pennsylvania is what we need most now not just so that we can change the seat from red to blue but to send an unmistakable message to republicans everywhere that they are about to be swept away by a rising blue tide that will take no prisoners. It is my hope that although this seat will be short lived as it again will be rearranged and voted on again in November it will serve as the warning shot heard round our nation that we are coming for republicans and no mercy will be given!

Our greatest achievements have come from liberal policies (#3324)

A society whose aim is to improve the lives of its citizens is a society that is healthy and expanding, https://www.brookings.edu/research/governments-greatest-achievements-of-the-past-half-century/. This word equation is done through mighty efforts to right the wrongs of the past and present. There is a lot of work to do but the trajectory is still the majority will of our nation. However right now we are in a holding pattern and a backward failing in many critical areas as the current republican regime does not measure achievement the way the majority of us do. They see achievement as the government being reduced to nothing more than a military and police action.
Well the rest of us do not see our strength as a nation in only force. We see our strength in the acts that lift society up with our needs for health and a strong vibrant economy that rewards all who work hard and endeavor. From government taking us to the stars and lifting our souls and our imaginations to government providing the essential needs of infrastructure, disease control and humane working conditions etc... The republicans do not appreciate government the way that most of us do and they are hell bent to destroy the architecture of government so that it can no longer suit the needs of our society. Instead they want their survival of the fittest, dog eat dog, reality to be the prevailing nature of our society.
Where would we be without government passing laws that protected the right to vote as well as expanding the right to vote for all of us citizens? Where would we be without the government protecting the air, water and food supply all of us count on? Where would we be without the government improving the lives of us older Americans by giving us the type of economic and medical insurance and that eases our efforts to remain alive? Where would we be without the government improving educational opportunities for our children to bring them into a more modern and intellectually driven world? Where would we be without the research and development that our government does to spur innovators and products for our market driven economy? We would not be America if not for our government's foresight to expand the base of our knowledge while increasing the chances for our survival as a nation!

We must win the midterms in order to impeach the trumps! (#3323)

Yes a few more months of keeping trump from killing us all and then the hammer will come down on their heads. Including in the trumps is pence. He is a colluder along with the trumps to gut our democracy and give putin what russia has always wanted, an eviscerated America. The current crop of republicans in congress must also be held accountable for their discoverable association in protecting trump and thereby enabling russia. The whole of the republican party must be subjected to a Nuremberg type prosecution for all the world to see our internal treasonous actors. An example of the traitorous acts must be aired so that all over the world a much needed lesson can be learned.
This is one area that I didn't not agree with our previous President Barack Obama who let slide the duplicitous actions of the younger bush in order to heal our nation. The let sliding was wrong and instead punishments of an exacting nature should have been meted out. Because in not doing so has further emboldened republicans to ignore the rule of law and dismantle the apparatus that was it's oversight. It is like any common logical progression, don't punish one for a bad act and they will keep acting badly until you do. I get why President Obama didn't want to air our dirty laundry but surely in hindsight he would likely agree with me here given the trumps.
So when the November midterms come around and we democrats are able to take control of the house and senate then and only then can we begin to impeach the current occupants of Pennsylvania Avenue. Because the line of succession after trump and pence are impeached is the new democratic speaker of the house. It will take a simple majority to impeach in the house, meaning just 218 congress persons voting to impeach and then in the senate 67 senators must vote to convict to make trump and pence no longer president and vice president, https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/it-only-takes-285-americans-to-impeach-donald-trump_us_59961421e4b02eb2fda31e5e It may not be as unlikely as the process may seem because if the evidence of russian collusion is proved, the republicans needed in the senate may not be hard to get to vote with us as they won't want to be branded as the ones who protected a proven traitor.

Shattering the myth of our comfortable perceptions (#3322)

No, we don't live in the land of milk and honey, although we could be. No, America isn't all apple pie and baseball, but it could be. All the little sayings that perpetuate a view that America is some various form of perfection is nonsense and not only that deliberately propagandized. Too many Americans are struggling mightily just to survive, http://money.cnn.com/2016/06/10/news/economy/americans-struggling-financially/index.html. Yet many wealthy and their republican lackeys are persistent to keep the myth alive that America is greater than it actually is. It is republican policies that make for our societal downfall but they do not broadcast it that way instead they point fingers at "others" and say that things would be greater if the "others" weren't such a problem.
The truth of things are clear if you consider that the wealthy gain the most from socialism in our economy, through tax breaks and subsidies while the middle working poor are vilified for accepting any help of a social nature. The wealthy greedy blaming the "others" for wanting more than a life of barely surviving while the wealthy are more rich and powerful because of all the social advantages they are offered, http://www.newsweek.com/robert-reich-why-socialism-rich-capitalism-poor-455066. Meanwhile we those many in the working middle poor class are bombarded with republican sponsored narratives that promote false negatives against each other. The republican backing wealthy have an agenda and it is to neuter the working middle poor class and make us subservient to them. How do you like that apple pie and baseball now?
Until republicans are gone from our government we will never see the end of the lying and cheating that republicans do to keep their narrative going. Most Americans cannot fathom that republican political leaders would outright lie to us but when you do your research and pay attention you find like I do that lying is all they can do based upon the policies they keep enacting to harm the working middle poor class. So turning us against each other is their only course of action to keep us from seeing their true nature of wannabe dictators and haters of "others". The trumps were not a mistake to them as you see most republicans back the trumps regardless of the pain and suffering the trumps inflict on us Americans. So the next time you hear about how great America is just remember that it is only the wealthy who are enjoying their milk and honey while the rest of us are struggling with our crusty bread and tainted water.

Don't mess with our democracy trump! (#3321)

The arrogance of trump to suggest that someday our democratic nation would have a president for life is the red line no one will ever cross with me. The generations of Americans who have fought and died to protect our democracy born from the overthrow of the rule of Kings and Queens is not lost on us who love our nation as more than a cash machine. The blatant arrogance and criminal suggestion that our democracy revert back to some form of monarchical or authoritarian rule is fighting words like none other. The despicable nature of trump to denigrate the memories of fallen heroes who gave all for our form of government is the lowest form of treachery that the conman trump has yet displayed.
If it were not just another in a long line of hellish attempts by this physical coward and reprobate to remake our nation in his image it would be enough by itself to physically remove him from office in chains. Yet it is just another in a long line of disparagements that trump has from day to day heaped upon the conscience of we Americans. That trump has lowered the bar so low for how a president acts and behaves has desensitized us from the cutthroat ruthless nature he allows himself to be guided by. Well I am one democracy patriot that will never allow his actions and words to remake our nation into some falsely glorified image of himself.
The further his presence in our power structure continues, the more likely we will feel the brunt of his lust for power. He is in the process of dismantling our government in the guise of making it more efficient but what he is actually doing is reducing government to such a small state as to have little effect in the lives of we the majority of Americans who need it most. That trump will soon have all safeguards and protections for the operation of our democracy dwindling the ease at which he can finally take it from all of us is at hand. We must not let him achieve his goal of becoming king while the rest of us sit back and let him. We have to fight and revolt as needed!

Big tent democrats (#3320)

Let me explain what big tent democrats means. In some regions of the country we have candidates that are not purely democratic idealists running for office with a real chance of being elected in republican strongholds. But in the overall sense of being a democrat they are. They will caucus with us and make policy with us and vote with us. They will just be a more moderate voice. In fact they will be like the republicans of old who want to enact liberal policies but with caution. I get it that we want all progressive liberals running for office but that will not happen in conservative districts where these much more moderate democrats have a real shot at defeating the tone deaf crazies from the republican party.
So as we move on toward the special elections and the midterm general election let us keep in mind that an overall strategy of having more democrats in power than republicans will give us control of the both the House and the Senate, and therefore the right to set the agenda. It is critical for us to have the majorities now as the unstable trump is in need of control until we can oust him however and whenever. So again, let us not cut off our heads to spite our noses. The bigger picture must be kept in mind when we are fighting to keep our democracy alive. In the battlefields of republican ideology we have to moderate our messages to fit the constituents that are in the districts where we want to change to democratic leadership. Some democrats will be for some conservative ideals and that is okay because the democrat will caucus with democrats, not republicans and that will keep republicans from maintaining control of the agenda.
I guess I cannot say it enough that we must be accepting of all the districts in our country and mold our democratic message as needed. Here in California we are fortunate to be able to run on almost completely progressive ideals but in West Virginia the same is not true. Yet we democrats can win in the republican strongholds by tailoring our ideals to fit within the logic of how the constituents of the districts benefit from them and contrast them with this current republican hot mess. Now is the moment for the blue wave election to happen and we must encourage all our candidates to be smart and honest with their messages regardless of the imperfection with being purely progressive. A big tent implies differing viewpoints that are in end the end still within the confines of the democratic party ideal.

The republican party is trying to turn us against each other (#3319)

I heard someone say that many of the poor people they are around don't speak English and that troubled them. This person felt like he should get a government benefit just for speaking English. I thought about how I felt about that it it got me riled up. First off many people from different countries are not able to assimilate English in the first generation. It usually takes the second generation to get more comfortable with the complexity of American english. Second it reminded me of how republicans like to turn us against ourselves by playing on our prejudices. Yes, in this case it was a prejudice against others because this person couldn't understand the language being spoken around them when he felt it should have been English.
This is exactly how republicans turn the narrative from them being complete assholes to pointing fingers at us and saying those people aren't "true" Americans. They do this through their unlimited funds used to advertise on television and radio to manipulate a trumped up hatred. What I always do is, if a conversation or advertisement in any way disparages one group of people over another I automatically tune it out or call it out, depending on the circumstance. When normally good democratic folks find an animus toward other good democratic folk it is most often the work of a republican strategy. The key to remember is that there would otherwise be plenty of money in our society for all of us to earn and share if it were not for republicans.
When all the money is going to the top wealthy it leaves very little left for the rest of us and is a perfect feeding ground for republicans to employ a strategy aimed at blaming one group over another. The despicableness of the republican agenda to deny most of us resources and then blaming one group or another within our poverty for the poverty. It will always be republicans and their wealthy donors who are making life miserable for the most of us and falling for their ages old trick to blame us for our own misery is face punch material. In a perfect world there would be no republicans. Does that help make you understand that we will never get anywhere near reasonably perfect as long as there is a republican in power?

Ignoring the noise of trumps (#3318)

I don't watch cable news because the cable news tries too hard to normalize the trumps and that is a strategic failure on their part. I don't listen to anything trump says because for one thing he is about as unprepared and unintelligible as any president, yes even including bush the younger, that I have ever had to exist at the same time with. His arrogance also sieves out and grates my soul. As if I need to even say here he is in a constant state of lying in order to keep his narrative buoyant. So ignoring the actual following and listening of trumps has given me an easier time in dealing with the reality of them leading our nation down the toilet.
Now I do get the after effect of policies and directives from all the online news sources out there that are still honest and objective. So I am up to date on the massive failures trumps have planned for we the American working middle poor class. What I do though to combat their initiatives and agenda is to focus on the positives that are happening all around us. The mobilization of our democratic base is at an amazing and still growing level. From women who have had it with republicans and trumps in particular to our children who are now getting involved in politics because their very lives depend on it. The rest of us who are seniors and people of color have already had many reasons to rebut all things trump and the republican party.
What is the most satisfying about the building blue wave consensus is the results being shown through special elections. From here on out to the November general midterm election, there are basically weekly special elections all across America that are the harbinger of things to come for changing out republican rule by the wealthy to people rule through the democratic party. So as each week ticks off and another democrat replaces a republican the sense of the mood of our nation goes from the despair that trump brought to the determined change that we democrats are growing from the grass roots. The trumps will find out that not including the working middle poor class into their calculations as the highest priority will be them being consigned to the outside wondering how it all went wrong for them!

The republican confidence is eroding fast (#3317)

Many are now thinking that trump is going to fail to reach the end of his first term. Not so much because there is some known smoking gun evidence that will end his reign of stupidity and callous hatred but of a progression of failures within his understanding of the American will and his choices to lead the federal agencies he is tasked to make a success. Everywhere around him his self imposed cocoon is being exposed as a flawed wrap. His "people" are as faulty as he is and in a position of leadership faults must be negated to the extreme. So as his people come and then just as quickly go we are seeing the confidence in his vision being eroded.
For the rest of us, if our nation survives the amateur trump, this is actually a good thing. As his failures increase his backing dissipates. Combined with some of his successes, like thwarting the will of the majority of Americans that also is going to be a good thing when the next election comes around because we are mobilizing against him and republicans. The republican party losing faith in him when the rest of the nation is out to hang him is just desserts for such a clueless wanna be dictator. The democratic blue wave that is already crashing into republican strongholds is not to be denied and as the special elections continue to show it is only gaining more impetus. So despite the outcome of the special elections and the midterms, the idea that trump will survive the Mueller investigation and or the coming impeachment when we democrats nest take control of the House and Senate, trumps days are likely over before the end of his term in 2020.
There are no guarantees here but the overrated confidence republicans carried into the new year 2017 when they gained control of the Executive with their already control of the House and Senate and then added on is the majority on the Supreme Court is crashing around their agenda. They thought that the rest of us would just bend over and take the screwing they had planned for those of us in the working middle poor class. Well they forgot that consent by the citizenry is a necessary ingredient to their shit stew policies and what they have found is that by condescending to us they have awoken us with a vengeance toward them that overcomes any complacency. We the majority who voted against the trumps and the republican party are as determined as ever to throw the bums out in every election possible going forward. A just reward for the arrogant republican party!
