Hope for our future is on the horizon (#4118)

A great article on Democratic nominee for president Joe Biden this morning, https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/05/joe-biden-presidential-plans.html. I have been privately hoping this type of change in our nominee would occur and it appears that the Covid-19 virus has stimulated that precise change. He is now looking forward to his administration, as our leader when he is elected president on November 3, 2020, with the same type of vision President Franklin Delano Roosevelt did during the great depression. Expanding and building new opportunities for our citizenry to overcome this horrible time of trump.
Reshaping our society to better reflect what democracy stands for and bringing in all of our citizenry to participate in it. Championing rights that should long ago have been enshrined in not only law but in our constitution. Giving workers the chance to forge their own destiny without being forced to accept an unequal partnership. Looking at poverty and lifting that floor above what is considered acceptable by republicans today. Giving our seniors some dignity at the end of our lives that brings more than just surviving to our existence. Helping our youth to become educated without the penalty of heavy debt to start their lives.
Making sure our women and folks of color are never again treated as less than equal in our constitution. Restructuring the way we do elections by increasing voter turnout and doing away with wealthy donors deciding who get to be our representatives. The future for our nation in the next few months is going to get even clearer for us despite the damage trumps and his republican party accomplices will wreak on us over the short time they have left in power. The ravaging virus and the failure of trumps to corral it is the spark that was needed to get our democratic nominee looking at our future through our eyes and that silver lining will be at least be some comfort going forward.
